    A few questions about RTTS...

Does this mode only use default rosters?

    Can I use custom sliders?

    Can I adjust batting difficulty?

    Is showtime worth using?

You can use whatever roster you have saved when starting the mode.

Yes, you can use custom sliders and adjust the difficulties as you see fit.

Showtime, I don't use unless prompted in order to make a "web gem"-type play out in the field.

I believe this is the third year that Showtime has been in game - I've never used it once in RttS.

As far as rosters, at least the way I see it, it will depend on what sort of RTTS gamer you want to be. There are some gamers who like to play their games as fast as possible in order to make it to the Major Leagues in as short as possible time. So they only play their plate appearances and only field their defensive plays. If they are positional players, their games probably only take about 5 minutes each to play. But for myself (and perhaps others I hope I am not alone here), I like to play the entire 9 inning game which means I am in the field waiting for the ball to be hit my way (probably get on average 3 chances maybe 4 per game), or in the dugout watching my teammates bat. Yes this takes a lot longer. On average in the Full Broadcast mode my games take about 90 minutes to play. But I like it, it is very immersive. So what does this have to do with rosters? Well if you are a play as fast as possible sort of gamer, does it really matter what rosters you use (default or custom) since most of the action is about your character. However on the flip side for someone who plays the entire game, you learn who your teammates are and for that reason I use OSFM rosters because my RTTS teammates are based on real world players.

It's your game, you spent money on it and you get to play it anyway you want. So yeah if you want to use custom rosters make sure you load them ahead of time before creating your RTTS character.

BTW: there are pros and cons to using the default rosters just as there are pros and cons to using custom rosters. Just ask yourself ahead of time what sort of RTTS gamer are you planning on being. I just feel that there is little point spending time on rosters if you plan on playing your games as fast as you can possibly play them. Just load up the default rosters and you will be up and running in now time and you won't notice any difference.
