Operation Sports MLB 19 Wish List.

Really enjoying 18, as much as I did 10-17.Still, like most people, I want new (& old lol) stuff added. I don't think Debby Downer is needed here, saying these things will never happen. After all, never is a long time

These are just a few things I wish were coming in 19:
Complete rebranding, retire Matt Vasgersian & the "Show" name.
Let's go with something like Maddon MLB 19 or MLB Grand Slam 19 or simply, Major League Baseball 2019.
And how 'bout Chris Rose & Kevin Millar in the booth.

Something Old - Namely, season mode.

RTTS can become Cup Of Coffee.
Diamond Dynasty can rehash the old name Diamond Kings.

    1. Styles(s) of Play

Give Managers styles of play like NBA 2K has freelance offenses based on the coach the Managers should have the same so playing against a team is a different experience. Billy Ball, Station to Station, Money Ball/Analytics, "Negro Leagues, Big Red Machine, Bronx Bombers, Power House Pitching, Atlanta Braves Pitching "The Big Three", 1970's Oakland A's " Dynastic Bombastic, Fantastic" and small ball.

    2. Legend signature animations e.g. Joe Morgan revving up his bat, or Kent Tekulve's Pitching style or "The Bird" Mark Fidrych, Ricky Henderson strut on a base on balls/walk.

    3. For the love of all things holy bring back batter/pitcher analysis instead of the generic pitch percentage on the D pad or touch pad.

    4. Batters eye please take the shackles off, let us look anywhere and not limit us to a strict field view.

I have a simple totally doable request and heck being a seasoned software developer myself who's background programming language is in C and C++, I could even do the work for them free of charge if they were to send me the appropriate sub set of code and unit test(s) to verify the fix and that would be to render the "O - Watch Game" button on the lower right side of the screen when the starting pitcher is introduced in full Broadcast RTTS games. Presently you need to wait for your first plate appearance or fielding opportunity in the game which could be in the 3rd inning for this button to be rendered and I cannot for the life of me understand why such an easy 1 day code change (likely less for the SDS DEVs) is never done.

I feel like the game isn't that far off. I just want some small things to increase immersion. I'll keep it to a top 3. The first thing that comes to mind is the ability to extend contracts at any point during the season. We've been waiting for that for what seems like forever and it can't be that hard to implement. Secondly, as user mentioned above, manager styles needs to happen. I played a game against the Phillies last night and thought about how cool it would be if Kapler was in the game with his quick hook and sabermetrics stuff. And finally, relocation/create-a-stadium. That one is pretty self-explanatory. If they added these three things I wouldn't play anything else.

With a yearly development cycle it’s not long after release that 2019 plans start getting made. While it may seem early, once plans are set it’s difficult to make big changes so better to get those ideas out now.

                Top 3

                1. Collision detection (or at the very least much better player awareness) so players stop clipping through each other. If players bump past each other let's see it. If they collided in the outfield, let's see it.

                2. Face scan. I'm pretty decent at making myself in the game but it would be a lot easier just to scan my face. It might also allow an opportunity to get player faces into the game that SDS didn't have time for.

                3. Expansion/relocation/create-a-stadium.

Runners up: Improved motion physics (give players mass and velocity), Cloth physics for jerseys, totally revamped commentary system.

Give me loose cloth, more edit slots on gear, more discrepancy between player skill, and degenerative injuries. The injury thing is taken from 2K. Where your injuries stay with you in your career. Another thing, a more robust trade deadline. Such as LH/RH power bat. Expiring studd's moved to contenders. With how the game plays this year, just needs cleaning up to me. The more franchise upgrades, the better...

Re: Operation Sports MLB 19 Wish List.

                    1. Online Franchise with robust servers

                    2. Franchise mode immersion improvements. Use NBA2k as the model

                    3. Ability to turn off morale in Franchise.

                    4. Return of season mode

                    5. Corrected scoring decisions on errors (let's hope this gets patched. You can't assume a DP and charge errors when they only get one out)

                    6. Continued work on fielding animations. Still a few too many "slow throws" that cost you.

                    7. Fix bunting.

                    8. Similar to the poster who talked about manager style types, also have types for pitching. Teams that use a six man rotation, teams that have a super quick hook for starters liked the Dodgers, teams that have very defined bullpen roles, how quickly a closer gets the hook both in game and permanently for a new closer, etc.

                    9. Contract negotiations in-season.

                    10. Let us choose our awards and all-stars

                    11. Bring back trade delay

                    12. Full minors. Even if several levels of A ball and rookie league aren't playable, teams should have, at their disposal far more than 90 players. 25 man rosters for the top 3 levels, add 10 to high A ball to make 25, and then add 3 more 25 man teams for mid A, low A, and rookie ball. To do this expand the draft to the current number of rounds in real life.

                    13. have an option (must be able to be turned off/on) for progression/regression to be more random. IRL it's fun to see a JD Martinez suddenly become a star. And you can also have a guy suddenly fall apart (Josh Hamilton for example). Standard progression/regression by age takes away any randomness. Also more performance based progression.

I have just two things I want.

                      1. Bring back Online Franchise. If this doesn’t come back next year I’ll stick with MLB The Show 18 for another year. It would be the first time I’ve skipped buying MLB The Show in almost a decade.

I'm sure SDS already got a handful of people working on 19, even if it's just preliminary prep work. Besides, officially they don't even pay attention to these type threads. Unofficially, the wheel that don't squeak gets no grease.

Re: Operation Sports MLB 19 Wish List.

The game play this year is excellent, so I'd like a few things added mostly to franchise mode.

                          - Mid Season Extensions
This should be in the game and there is no excuse. You already have the contract mechanic in the game, just allow us to go to the screen anytime during the season and sign players to extensions. This is a pretty significant part of baseball and should have been on the game for a long time now.

                          - Contract Clauses
Things like no trade/no movement clauses would be a nice touch. Not something that is necessary but would be nice to have as an extra negotiation chip. Have it affect the players willingness to sign certain deals and allow us to have the choice to offer partial and full no trade clauses.

                          - Club Win/Loss Records on Trade Screen
This needs to be in. Nothing like trying to deal a rental player off a contending team and having to go back through them menus to check the standings or having to write down all of the team standings. This cannot be hard to add in, would be helpful.

                          - Full Minor League Stats
Would love if the player cards would track stats from minor league seasons. Would be great for scouting players track records before they reach the majors. Even if it just was a handful of stats that would be great.

                          - 5 Player Trades, Multi-Team Trades & Money Balancing
Would love if they could add 5 player trades on each side. Would make balancing money/prospects easier. Multi team trades would be nice too, but they are fairly rare where it would not be a necessity, but would be a nice feature to have. Sending money would be a great addition as well, let us do it similar how the NHL series does.

                          - Better Free Agent Negotiations
This would work excellent with an added extension system. Build off of the current system where a player asks for more money as you increase the years on the deal buying out their arbitration years and use it with the moral mechanic already in the game. If a player wants to play close to home, wants good coaching and wants a compatriot and your team fills those needs, make that play some sort of role in the deal they are asking for from your club. Also seems like players just pick an offer and sign it, seems like it is mostly random.

Basically im hoping franchise gets an overhaul. I like the new phases added this year but most of them seem like they are wasted as there isn't much depth to them.

                            1. Catcher needs to throw the ball back to the pitcher every time. I don’t care how quick you cut the scene after that, but at least let the pitcher catch the damn ball.

                            2. Spring training: non-roster invitees, split-squad games, ties, and real spring training jerseys.

                            3. Revamp/overhaul the audio. New umps, new PA guy, better ambiance, radically improve crowd reactions.

                              Gameplay:

I desire a More physical, less canned ragdoll animation set for tagging the bases and the potential for physical contact around the field. MLB is really more athletic and physical than it's given credit. EA FIFA's ragdoll physics they introduced back in the 2011 end of this decade is now still one of the best feeling and looking collision models even introduced, it also is the same model their NHL series was based upon. MLB can do something in this area that will be another significant leap for the franchise in all aspects.

I always wish for that next level environmental mystical weather effect from every game based on the outdoors. Foggy/Mist is a wonderful direction and introduction but I want a windy game to feel windy, a hot or cold game to feel that way and so on. I would at least expect them to enhance the wind physics throughout the entire ballpark/field environment. A windy game definitely needs to feel that way and we all can agree on that.

Continue to expand the presentation to showcase all of the visual and gameplay

                              Less Exciting:

They need to breakthrough with strengthened AI for franchise/seasonal modes. I'd like to see managers inherit or develop management (quirks) and for each manager to have a different threshold for the various pitcher management decisions. We're seeing 4 man and 6 man rotations in the real game, SDS should not fall behind the newest managerial and in-game strategies happening.

I want all of the Spring Training facilities and for the mode to be much more decked with features but it won't happen..
