This is pretty much all for naught now that I got permanently(?) moved to the bullpen after just two starts in the bigs. I should’ve seen it coming with all the prospects ahead of me with the Braves. I think I’ll make him a Rock Star since poor control and clutch situations is a bad mix. At least having a high 90s cutter and a mid(?) 90s forkball will be nasty still.

How did you find the potential pitch speeds?

I went into create a player and set the speed to the max the archetype allows (so a rockstar is able to max out so move your 3 or however many pitches your using to 99 ratings) and it should give you your numbers I might put a chart together with all max velocity on pitches per archetype

I went into create a player and set the speed to the max the archetype allows (so a rockstar is able to max out so move your 3 or however many pitches your using to 99 ratings) and it should give you your numbers I might put a chart together with all max velocity on pitches per archetype

I'm planning on creating a pitcher for RTTS show and I am looking for suggestions on the best pitches to use for the different archetypes.

I know fastball type pitches (4 seam fastball and cutter) for a flamethrower any other suggestions for a flamethrower or the other archetypes?

I imagine pitches with heavy movement for the plain filthy.

Don't worry about it, I've built a graphic that will do most of the stuff I was going to edit. Biggest thing was changeups don't increase in speed with increased velocity, they slow down.

NOTE: MPH is likely not perfectly represented, as the overall speed of a pitch is also relative to the speeds of the other pitches you throw.

Built this graphic to visually show each pitch. The amount of Break each pitch has for this is a 70 rating (max for Flamethrower archetype). Pitches break more if thrown into their break (2 seam started on the arm-side corner of the plate will break more than over the middle).

The velocity ratings of 40, 70, and 99 are important. 40 is the minimum any archetype can get (Plain Filthy), 70 is the maximum for the Control Freak archetype, and 99 is the max for Flamethrower.

I know that they're supposed to decrease with speed. However when I went into the create a player mode those are the numbers they gave me if you had other pitches at the max number. I even put 3 changeups in and that's the numbers it gave me

Hmm I just did the checking with editing players, basically giving them those pitches... upon further inspection, the velocity of your other pitches may also have an effect on each pitch.

watch as I have a Changeup as the 2nd pitch, and adjust the speed of the 4-Seam ... it changes the pitch speed of the changeup.

That was my experience too. Which makes some sense you don't really see any pitcher throw a 99 fastball and a change in the 70s
