Continue your Franchise from 17 or start a new one?
This was my big debate when I got 18. I am currently in year 2020 with my Reds. I am don't want to stop this one but, I want to give the new rosters a shot. What do you all do?Cincinnati Reds|Cincinnati Bengals|Virginia Tech HokiesTags: None -

Carryover.
Unless something catastrophic happens, I'll continue this franchise for the foreseeable future.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Hah I'm in year 2020 with my reds as well. Picked up 18 and put a few hours in. It's good but putting years on a franchise is better in my most humble opinionMuch love boysComment

Re: Continue your Franchise from 17 or start a new one?
I carried over my D-Backs franchise from 17. Just be aware that not every player will carry over. For example Glen Perkins had a solid year closing in 17 and did suffer a career ending injury like in real life. Since he is not in the union anymore his player carried over as a player with a random name and appearance. His career stats and attributes are the same so it took around 30 minutes to find these players and change their names and appearance. The weird part is they don’t have many of the audio names from players that have been in the game the past 5 years. If none of that bothers you carrying over is definitely the way to go.

Still got an old braves franchise that originated on Show 14. At some point in 18 I will get a few games played from that file. With Evan Gattis, Jason Heyward, the Upton brothers, Andrelton Simmons, Chris Johnson, Craig Kimbrel, Aaron Harang, Ervin Santana and even Dan Uggla (sorta) on the team, I can't just throw that away. Even though our record stinks, ''I can't quit you''. Its kinda like a bad marriage but I stick it out because of the kids lolOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Continue your Franchise from 17 or start a new one?
I have a carryover from ‘15 that is in year 2021. I was in the playoffs so I finished it and then started a new one fresh. The biggest reason for starting over is that a lot of the contextual stats don’t show up, like career versus. That and after winning a couple World Series’ I felt it was time to start fresh. I may eventually play some more of my carryover at some point because I’ve become attached to some of the guys that I’ve drafted and seen rise through the ranks.

Did you continue your 17 file on 18? I may wait till the final OSFM roster is out and wait till the season over and start a new 18 Reds one and go on there and just transfer it when 19 comes out. I am like you. I have put 3 seasons in. Finally got them rolling some what. Well.....finally not losing 100 games a season lol.Much love boysComment
