Created Player does not level up...

I'm having an issue where I leveled my 2nd base guy up to the point that I can see the level 70 missions but he is still level 65? I have open the Tally Stats 2 and Single game Stats 2. They require my "70" cap to reach certain goals. But he's still 65. There is no indication of progress. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you redeem the improved player? Check your rewards. Go to your squad and replace the player with the improved one.

You have to go back to the star tab under my squad and the first person on there would be your 70 overall player and you have to swap them out with the 65 on on your current squad

Thank you so much!!! I love this game but damn I wish they did a better job with tutorials and manuals.
