Franchise bug, beware!

Hey guys,

With OSFM finally dropping last night and everyone starting up their franchise I thought I would give everyone a heads up about a major bug. In 3 year of franchise when you get to the offseason their is no way to:

1) offer arbitration

2) resign players non exclusive

3) sign free agents until phase IV

This causes you to lose out on all of your talent accept for exclusive feee agents. I simmed 3 different franchises to see if it was an anomaly and sure enough it happened each time.

I dug around theshownation.com and found there are others having this problem. So if your getting close to year 3 I would hold off until they patch. Also everyone should go to the shownation.com and report a bug report so this gets fixed quicker.

I wasn't a big fan of the phases as opposed to last years menu, and now knowing that it doesn't work properly makes me even more disappointed

The weird thing is the phases are just not there. I tried working around it by using the calendar but there is no option to access from there

They don't care about franchise lol. They probably simmed a couple of seasons. Saw that mike trout was on the Athletics, Aaron judge was on the rays, and Bryce Harper was playing for Minnesota, and were like... yup we're good lol

The crazy thing is I play multiple franchises a year anyway. And usually get through about 5 seasons in a couple of weeks (mostly playing just post season if I make it), I would gladly test franchise for free before release

Yeah I forgot this was a sports game and it's 2018. Also, these are the same guys that sat through a stream and watched Jose Altuve sign with the A's for 200 mil and go "yeah, that sounds about right". These are truly dark times for franchise gamers...

Feel bad for the heavy sim players but as long as you don’t need to restart to get the fix when they patch it it won’t affect me. Unacceptable that it got past testing though. I’d expect this from EA, not SDS.

Are there any possible workarounds; Like turning budgets off or using 30 team control?

This is pretty damning if true. It’s one thing to remove several franchise modes, but to do literally nothing to improve the one that is still included and then have it be completely busted so that it is unplayable is a travesty. And of course there is no word from SCEA about anything.

If it gets patched. Who knows if it would even be possible to fix through a patch. It would depend on what type of code is messed up I would imagine. No way this should have gotten missed.

Like most on here probably do, I run 30-team control. What happens if we set everything (including the teams that we actually, "control") to auto on everything for the offseason?
