    Pulse Pitching Difficulty

I use pulse. I enjoy it, in theory. I love the mechanics. I wish that it had the feature of longer button pushes = faster/less accurate pitches as that is a fantastic feature in classic and an excellent mechanic to help simulate realism and player input. I really dislike meter, positively can't stand analog and loathe classic. Unfortunately everything but pulse is a much better representation of simulation pitching. Especially classic.

With pulse, by default, the pitchers are far too accurate. With classic I find I'm left wondering if I just hung a meatball or maybe I might even take the batter's head off, and I love it. It's amazing. I'm playing Legend with pitcher sliders at 0 and I struggle to not pitch great. I can easily pitch 70% painting the corners with average pitchers with no difficulty and that's not all that fun after a while. I use the exact same sliders, same teams, switch to classic or meter and the pitching is so different it feels like a different game.

I wonder if there is any chance pulse pitching can be patched to be much less accurate (somehow) and if just like classic adding the feature that the longer you hold the button - the harder the pitch is thrown. Adding that latter would be amazing and a much more accurate representation of pitching as with pulse you have no control over pitch speed/effort, which is kinda lame. I realize adding this feature is not likely something that can be patched even if it were decided to be a good idea, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there. I firmly believe pulse's effectiveness/difficulty can be adjusted though.

I'd be cool with something simple, like after selecting the pitch, you then time your pitch using the x, circle or square button just like you do with hitting. Square could be a power pitch, circle a finesse, and x could be a natural pitch.

That'd be a cool idea. Anything to influence power/speed would be amazing, but even if that never happens I really think it needs to be adjusted because it's just way too accurate.

I have not really tried pulse this year i am going to try at some point buts its odd to hear that it is to easy because in the past the thing i liked about it was that it was a lot harder then meter and analog but the thing i don't like about it is not being able to control break/power. I remember a few years ago some developers said something about maybe adding that in in the future but have not heard any thing about that in a long time now.

          Actually, I disagree with this.

I think pitchers in pulse are realistically accurate.

My issue with classic is that pitchers miss by what would be 3-4 feet routinely, even if they have good BB/9 and control and I go for better command (ligher presses).

I don't find that realistic for even a below average major league pitcher. If you can't come within 4 feet of the target on a regular basis, you probably aren't in the majors unless you're like Chapman or something, or a knuckleballer.

I use pulse pitching every year I like the mechanics behind it and there are times were I hit my spot and miss.

Yep - can't tell you how many times I get burned trying to make a perfect pitch and the pitcher misses by a few inches and whack!

Or if I want it off the plate but it doesn't bite enough or leaks over the plate for contact instead of a possible chase swing and miss (or just take).

I find I have to account for those possibilities when sitting my initial aim point, which lowers the chance I get the perfect exact spot I'm hoping for.

I'd definitely agree that classic is a bit too off the mark, however I really do feel pulse is the opposite. Maybe if they could meet in the middle. I do think it needs a control function for speed/break.

Maybe I'm just lucky. I really just find pulse too accurate. Especially considering I am playing with sliders at 0.

Begby, why don't you turn off the ball marker? That'll tank your accuracy a bit, and probably feel more rewarding while you're at it.

Bonus points for if you turn off vibration.
