How to make sure SP starts for he CPU in Franchise?

Often the cpu doesn’t start the normal scheduled starter and they put in a long reliever instead.

The only way to control CPU teams is by having 30 team control, which has to be set up as you're creating a franchise.

So I can then select who they start?

With 30 team on, yes. But you have to that before you start the franchise. It's not something you can change after the fact.

Do you see this often? The cpu starting a reliever instead of the scheduled pitcher?

I have not seen this happen.

Maybe that happens once in a while because the starter gets hurt during pregame warmups. It happens with your own team once in a while.

Yeah, without an injury I can't sayI that I've seen this much. However, given that CPU teams are supposedly going to make the choice to move their pitching staffs around more this year, I'm hoping that it does become a thing.

I just completed April in my franchise, and my most recent game came against the Rockies who had sent one of their starters down to AAA already and brought someone else up. That dude pretty much dominated me for six innings, so it was the right call. I love seeing the CPU make moves like that, and hope to see more of it.

It happens mostly when a SP gets injured and they call up a reliever instead of another starter.
When I see a SP has been injured, I go to that team and make sure they have 5 healthy starters or if a starter is 1-6 days, I put him back in the rotation so he starts about that 6th day.

FWIW, at the end of April in my franchise, I noticed in the transactions list that three different teams sent one of their starters down to AAA and called someone else up for their rotation. So it does seem that the CPU is being more flexible and closer to real life in how it does its business now.

Do teams in real life send that many players down to the Minors?

In my Indians franchise the Cubs started Jon Lester both games and the funny thing is he dominated my lineup both games even with low stamina in game 2 I was so frustrated that now I hate real life Jon Lester.
