Been playing a ton of Orioles Magic baseball, I just now settled into a deep dive on osfm's Braves. Apparently Stormy Daniels bought the Atlanta's AAA team & renamed them the Strippers.

I can't agree enough with Elliott Jenkins' gripe with going after first or second pitch...too many times have I thought I crushed a fast ball or hanging curve only to see the dreaded home plate pop up or foul ball out. Guessing the right pitch and barreling it up should bring good things a much higher per cent of the time.

I have hit quite a few home runs and doubles on first and second pitches. However I strictly play offline franchise and you all seem to be playing predominantly online.

I'm finding line drives/worm burners that drill the pitcher or hit the mound, only to perfectly bounce to the 2B / SS for an easy out. The ball bounces way too far off walls and pitcher leg bones. I've lost a ton of doubles down the line that hit the wall, then bounce 60 or 70 feet perfectly to the LF or RF so they easily pick me off at second base. Real baseballs do not bounce halfway across the infield or from foul line to practically CF. It's not a basketball. It's some cork and rubber wrapped with string and covered with leather.

Good to know I'm not the only one with huge problems facing sidearm pitchers.

And low-strike-zone pitches too. The 12-6 curve and the knurve can eat my...uh, zucchini.

Or maybe it's just that 90% of the pitches I seem to hit early on result in atom balls or flyouts...when they're one of the first two pitches?! Okay, something's going on here.

Interesting that all these guys in the article are DD players mainly.

Really goes without saying that Sony is doing everything they can to make this the "it" mode.

In MLB the Show 18, I'm best at ...
                Pitching

The mode I'm playing most is ...
                franchise

The team/player I hate to face is ...
as a Braves guy I wouldn't hesitate in years past to say Giancarlo for player (honorable mention to Bryce) & for team, the Dodgers. This year, been playing mostly with Baltimore the first few weeks so it's Giancarlo and the Yanks.

the most ridiculous thing I've seen so far is ...
the generic homerun celebrations. But in a good way.

I've hit plenty of first or second pitches for doubles, singles, or homeruns. I don't think that is necessarily something that is intentionally done in the game as much as it is just bad luck.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
