Can We Assign Umpires?

If you play an Exhibition Game, as I have been doing to test sliders and get my settings all locked in, if I play at Fenway, I get James Kingsley every. single. game.

Is there a way to assign a different umpire, or randomize the pick, for an exhibition game, so I can get some different looks at guys behind the plate?

You can't assign them. I think depending which stadium you play at in Play Now dictates the ump crew as well as who the plate ump is IIRC

To syf - Hope you don't mind if I continue here & piggyback the thread to keep track of Plesac's?/DeRosa's? assessment of each ump's character style.

Ed Drummond =
fair, consistent, well-liked by pitchers & hitters, long fuse, good ball & strike umpire, pretty much straight down the road

James Kingsley =
King of the hill, pitchers ump, if you consistently pound that outer half, Kingsley will give it to you, if you put the ball off the strike zone he's not afraid to put that arm up

Clyde Washington =
pitchers best friend, low strike zone, low zone but consistent, will call a strike at the knees,

Gary Simmons =
the kind of ump pitchers REALLY like to throw to, he'll give you one thing or the other, at times his zone will be wide

Patrick Johnson =

Joe MacDonald =
his zone fluctuates a lot

Jerry Hillsdale =

Carl Dixon =

I thought it was odd that I saw Clyde Washington and his low strike calls so much, but it didn't occur to me that the stadium (Wrigley in this case) would determine the umpire in play now. Great info! Might be a way to finally learn some of these guys' tendencies if we can "select" them, in a way.

I've been restarting and redoing the first inning multiple multiple times to hear Dero & Plesac's assessment. Now I need to see if their thoughts are accurate lol

Speaking of, I remember laughing once after Plesac and DeRosa assessed an umpire, saying he had a great strike zone, and he completely missed the next strike call, which wasn't a close call. Just found that ironic.
