    Baserunners not running on hits

It seems pretty bad this year... but I get an easy base hit and the runner on first just stands there like he's waiting to see if it gets caught. Also I just hit a liner off the pitcher and the runner on first just stayed there, and would have been safe at second. What gives?

If you are playing with auto base running as I am, I have seen some pretty questionable running decisions. I guess you're better off safe then sorry, but sometimes I feel like yelling at my TV... Run!

..yet base runners will try to advance (and get thrown out) on any pitch bounced in the dirt.

I used to experience the same thing quite frequently on past games. This year i havent seen it...knock on wood. It was very frustrating to get a base hit, to then only see your runners never take off.

Have not had a single issue with base running (assisted). I do not use auto base running.

I'm always fascinated when people have these issues. I've never had a runner not go in a situation where they should on contact.

I wish people would start showing video of these bugs.

Re: Baserunners not running on hits

there for sure some big problems with autobaserunning in this years game !!! expecially on pitches in the dirt... it´s so frustrating how often they will get throw out because they take off so often also the ball isn´t so far away i had to conventrate so much on batting that autobaserunning is the way to go for me. i mean i controll them also in some situations myself but in these situation i can´t react fast enough because batting takes everything out of me. but the cpu takes off way to often.

another thing i recognize is that rarely my players not throw the ball to the base i want them to do... instead they do just nothing but the cpu must know this because i already ran to the next base but i pressed the button way before, they ran also to 2b for example when my RF has the ball and would beat him by miles but the cpu must know hey this time nothing will happen so take off to second...

Re: Baserunners not running on hits

Unless it's a line drive and they are holding up in case the ball is caught, my autobase runners are fine. In the past, this was caused by me accidentally touching R1 (go back) or R2 (freeze) while swinging. After making a conscious effort to reconfigure my grip, it's not a problem for me anymore.

Re: Baserunners not running on hits

I feel that baserunning is at an all time best, although I use assisted instead of auto.

In years past, I couldn't use hit and run because players would auto-slide into 2nd instead of taking the extra base. This year, it has worked to perfection.

You think I would come on here and make up a random topic? I dont need to make a video to please you just because you aren’t having the same experience. I’m using assisted baserunning by the way, for those that have had useful responses.

Don't think he was attacking you dude.... calm down. lol. Just stating he hasn't experienced it and if it exists it would be truly nice to see what exactly is going on.

Base Running is fine to me. I like that they have the stop and watch between bases on close fly balls. You have to be focused and make the correct selection because of the stop and watch the flight of the ball on close plays.
