There are a couple threads on that already, let's not get into in this thread as well.

So they're likely going to release a patch that completely screws up the gameplay.Comment

Re: Post from SDS on Show Nation
Do you blame them? Look at the venom of people here and on tsn. They bash the developers for being lazy, that they don't care, that the just produce a game and count their money and so on. Every little thing that happens in a game is posted on, bashed like mad and then things tend to get personal. I don't blame them for not posting and staying away from here.
I'm not saying that some of the problems don't deserve to be called out or brought up but when it's a constant barrage of it, I wouldn't hang around for it either. If things were done in constructive ways, I'm willing to bet there would be more communication like there used to be

Up until a 2 or 3 years ago the OS community here was always respectful and ready with praise and constructive criticism. But a 3 years of disappointment with no movement on improving franchise, removing key features, not fixing legacy issues, AND seemingly doing your best not to communicate (see the removal of season mode this year for example) is going to ramp up the criticism.Comment

Re: Post from SDS on Show Nation
However, imo, the differences are too minimal to warrant spending more than $40 on. When I went back to 17, the only thing I missed is the smoother batting animations and the way the lighting looks in HDR in partly cloudy games.
Also seeing how my favorite mode, RTTS turned out, it made it much easier to stay away for now.Comment

Re: Post from SDS on Show Nation
People really wonder why SDS doesn’t post here much anymore?
Just read through this thread.
This thread is a post made on another website about SDS trying to fix some issues with the game and make a better overall experience, and people just see SDS and rush to post attacks, criticisms, and just berate the devs.
Sad

As for the involvement, you guys are correct that they don't come here nearly at all anymore. And is it a surprise? DD and online play are the Kings of the castle nowadays. Franchise/offline has gotten virtually nothing since, you guessed it, 3 or so years ago, right when they stopped coming around.
Now, did they stop coming because franchise took a back seat or did franchise because they stopped coming? Who knows. My bet is on the former, because there's no reason to plug into a largely offline (at least the more long term and high ranking members) community and waste time when you know you aren't going to make improvements to that mode anyway.

I would like to think SDS still lurks but spends time working on the next installment rather than chit-chatting. SDS is still thanking OS in the credit liner notes so they are still getting valuable feedback from us.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Post from SDS on Show Nation
I don't think I'd expect anything from a post specifically made regarding Online gameplay to affect things on the offline side, which I assume is the concern being expressed in this thread. Did any of you notice the offline PCI's or pitch speeds being different when they ran their BR test this past weekend, or even that they ran one at all until you read this post? I'd imagine not, and that's because the changes were all on the server-side, and they only had an effect on one online mode - which was really noticeable to people who play both BR and Ranked Seasons.
Aside from the fielding issues (which do affect both online and off), I believe that tweaking the online play is all that they're talking about here.
Agreed
The only thing in that post that dealt with offline gameplay was the fielding issues. Everything else was strictly online play.
At least that is how I read it.

But what's really SAD, is what is happening to sports gaming. The trend of "turning players into payers" by manipulating gameplay. That's the route of all this upheaval.
What's more? The Show used to be the argument against the EAvil Empire. One would say "why don't you develop your game more like The Show, that's how a game should be made." Now, The Show has gone the way of these gluttonous pirates.
There's nothing left to play. Every sim-based sports game is the same - a glitchy, bug-fest, that goes year after year with issues that don't get addressed. Why? Because they're too busy trying to perfect an algorithm that will fool everyone into thinking they need to make an in-game purchase. They're too busy trying to perfect the ways to get fools to put value on a set of 1s and 0s. A set of 1s and 0s that they completely control.
Sorry, but if you like sim-based sports games, there has to be a voice against what is currently going on, or we're going to lose our games if we haven't already.Comment

Re: Post from SDS on Show Nation
Posting on sites, whether here or TSN is useless these days, they care zero about our opinions on this game. The only way to get real answers would be to get in front of them face to face and not accept the vague/beat around the bush "answers" that we get sporadically these days.Comment

Millennium (who does have a direct line to the devs) has stated as much during his streams and on twitter - they may not post as much, but they're always reading the feedback.Comment

Re: Post from SDS on Show Nation
The crazy thing to me, is people now a days feel like they OWE us explanation for something going wrong. Anyone who thinks SDS is only in it for the money, can't be on the site very much, because the level of input and communication we have always had with them through the various channels and pages blows my mind! They put out a great game, every year. The problem is, they can't make EVERYONE happy with everything they do! For example, I loved the new pitch speed, because I am not one of the players who can grind the game every single day and I play competitive games on veteran difficulty. I am not a big franchise player, but I understand there are many who are. Many people now have lost the ability to empathize, because we are only concerned with our personal enjoyment! To think that we have the right to DEMAND anything the developers is crazy to me. We can talk to them and communicate our opinions, but we should also understand that our opinions may not be the same as everyone else. It blows my mind that we will quickly jump on to sites like OS to insult, slam, and ridicule people who spend an awful lot of their lives trying to make a product for us to enjoy. Please show the developers the respect they have earned with the hours of blood, sweat, and tears they put in every single year, or step away and find what truly will satisfy you entertainment needs.Comment
