    Delayed Fielder reactions

I am noticing this year fielders seem to take longer not only to get to balls, but also to get the ball out of their glove and get the runner out. I have had countless below 50 speed runners get infield singles on routine ground balls. I have also noticed slow runners going 1st to 3rd on bloop hits. Is anyone else noticing this? Work around?

yes i agree with you. i feel like the biggest thing i see is when guys get back in glove they take longer motion to make tags or when you throw to 2nd grab ball n swipe not catch n go up in air n then swipe..
tagging kills me and im tired of pitchers getting hit by ball n they stay in game all the time.. lets fix those inj.

As for fielders taking longer, they have re-balanced the fielders in the game so that elite/great defenders separate themselves from good/average defenders. It is different at first, but once you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your players defensively, its really well done.

In regards to not getting the ball out of the glove, are you pre-loading throws? I haven't had an issue with fielders taking too long to throw the ball to the base thus allowing slow footed runners to get cheap infield hits.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Great question on the preloading. I haven't seen the delays they have seen but i also wonder if there are differences in game play with a standard PS4 compared to a PS4 PRO?

Relay man throws take far too long on preloaded throws. There’s a hop step animation that always triggers. Unrealistic and unfortunate.

I turned fielder speed up to 6 to help with this. I still see balls drop in front of OF and those they can't run down. But this definitely helps and I've noticed a big difference for the better.

Finally got "showed" this year. Leading 5 to 2 in the bottom of the 7th and couldnt get an out to save my life. Then this gem of a 3run inside the park home run happened because my fielders would simply not trigger any animation. Very frustrating to play through.

yes. Noticed it from day one. Funny thing is, they really hyped the "improved" fielder response. Ground balls hit to deep shortstop are always infield singles, even if hit hard. Mainly because the fielder is slow getting ball out of his glove. 1st to 3rd bloop hits happen a lot more than last year. I've had slow guys score from first on a shallow double simply because the outfielder took his sweet time lobbing the ball in. There is no urgency at all in fielders

This has been happening to me since day 1 and is really my only complaint about the game doesn't happen all the time but when it does it can have a huge impact on the outcome of the game.

I'm actually giving up fewer infield hits this year with the default fielding and baserunning sliders. I also notice a clear difference between elite defenders and the average defenders, same with baserunners.

I've gotten so frustrated, I've decided just to upload videos every time this happens and send it to SDS.

Yeah they said in one of the streams that they had fixed the outfielders slowly jogging to the ball and that it was a bug. It obviously isn't fixed. Outfielders don't get rid of the ball quick enough either.

Getting a bunch of infield singles because my SS loves to do a spin throw regardless of where he catches the ball.

I don't know, I'm not having this issue with my fielders holding the ball to long. As mentioned I know players are playing to the fielding ratings which I feel really well done. For me fielding, throwing and tagging are the biggest improvements this year.
