Depth of Field

I'm of the opinion that an option to decrease the depth of field while hitting would (a) improve the aesthetics of the game by blurring the jagged edges inherent in The Show's stadium graphics, (b) more realistically approximate human vision, and (c) perhaps allow players to focus more on the incoming pitch.

Just to be clear, decreasing the depth of field would make the outfield/stadium look somewhat blurred while hitting. Our eyes do this to things in the background of our view when we focus on something in the foreground.

Just wanted to see if this might be something others would be interested in for future games.

Depth of field is something I always felt was difficult for a video game to nail down. After all, it's something that occurs naturally to us, and we have some control over it. It's constantly shifting and changing to suit our attention, so despite it looking natural when our attention is where the devs expect, it often looks out of place or forced. That being said I do like a subtle DoF effect.

I guess what I am saying is I don't know.

I like how some of the NASCAR games blurred the road, but I voted I probably wouldn't use that particular option. I would however have no problem if it was an option. I'm always for options added. Don't really know who would be against it lol

If it would make it easier to read pitches I’m all for it. No camera makes it easier for me.
