Would have been nice if they let you equip one or none like the HR celebrations.

Also having a selection of real emotion display...like they do the HR celebrations.

But overall it's like "meh" for me and, generally, I like the emotion/personality being part of the game. It could be improved but it's not making me want to stop playing or anything of that nature.

Hit the nail on the head. Optional and a tweak or two to improve. It's annoying but far from an issue that would make me set the controller down. I would think that you could do the animations similar to how at one point you could choose the walk up, take a pitch for strike, swing and miss, etc. animations to your player. Could be kept simple to no emotion, a subtle type reaction such as a thumbs up or point to dugout, and a more extreme option.

      Re: Constant dabbing

So I'm pretty sure you guys are just referring to celebrations... Not one particular celebration called "dabbing" which if I remember correctly is the thing Cam Newton does. Anyway, is it over the top and repetitive? Yes. But it's literally what players are doing now and it's been that way for years. Each year teams come up with a new silly celebration that they do repeatedly all year. I don't think most people really care but it's hard to understand complaining about something that's in the real game being in the video game. Should they tone it down or not show them after every hit... Yeah I agree. But just watch one game and for most teams you'll see it after every hit all game long. And the camera will usually be on them while they do it.

Well for the 13 years that I've been playing, the game has always strived for realism. So until they show me otherwise, I'll continue to believe, and expect, that the game will be developed with idea of making the most realistic baseball game possible.

They don't even dab lmao. Players do celebrate alot when they get base hits. My team is the red soxs, and xander does the walking L from fornite. You guys gotta lighten up baseball needs some color and fun emotion . Doesn't have to be super serious. SDS can't catch a break lol. Only thing I can see helping is maybe making it for certain players. Also, why not just hit x and skip it lol.

My team is the Mets... This year their thing is the "pepper grinder". So yes, the real life mets literally do this all game long unless it's a blowout. Just Google "mets pepper grinder". I feel like this has been happening in real life baseball for like a decade so I'm confused why we're upset SDS added it to the game. I do think though that you should get to choose the celebration and it should be the same for the whole team as that's how it generally works. Anyway, I hit X to get to the next at bat so I rarely see them.

So that's what it's called. I do see that particular one a lot, for a lot of teams. But yeah - that's not dabbing.

I remember 2 or 3 years ago the Cubs would rub their helmets with both hands after pretty much every single. Haven't paid much attention to what they're doing this year, although it's probably something similar. Maddon encourages that kind of stuff - look at the bullpen HR dance if you need more proof of that.

This kind of stuff is present in the real game now, and the way it's depicted in the game isn't that far off.

I wish they'd do celebrations like used to be done with end zone celebrations , you had to hit a combo of buttons to trigger them. Then you would only have them happen if that's your style.

Hmm... But if it's in the real game why would you have to? That's like saying I should have to hit a button combo to turn on defensive shifts. Extreme example obviously.

What I'd propose instead is that they have an option to turn off cutscenes if that's your style.

I guess I might be in the minority. I know they are there I just don't pay attention to it I guess. I see them and don't think much about it. I just get to the next batter.

But IRL not everybody celebrates meaningless singles in th 9th inning when you're down by 2 grand slams. And I would trigger them occasionally, if it were a big hit that was really memorable. I'm not opposed to celebrating. Even as far back as Ty Cobbs rookie year , the older generations were lamenting that the youth was bastardizing the game. And I bet when Bryce Harper is 70, people in his generation will complain about the state of the game.

If that's happening (and to be fair I haven't really been paying attention to whether late-inning blowout celebrations differ from close games), then it's a bug and needs to be reported as such. SDS said in the pre-release streams that as part of that added focus on emotion this year, that celebrations would play at the appropriate times (i.e, not while a team is getting blown out).

Pretty sure that was in the presentation stream.
