    Auto or Manual Fielding

Just curious on how others play. I’ve seen quite a few sliders that are set up for auto fielding, some with auto throwing. I’ve always played manual fielding, but have never had the problems I’m facing this year. It feels like my outfielders especially are just blind or just don’t make a play on the ball. I tried auto fielding with manual throwing for a game and it just doesn’t feel right. Any opinions?

Auto field with regular buttons. I can't compare it to manual fielding because I haven't used that in ages.

I do prefer and enjoy using manual fielding but i have used auto fielding in my franchise for the last few years as i was just making to many silly user errors. I just do throwing choices.
I am thinking of going back to manual fielding as i am seeing outfielders just jogging to get the ball far to often, no urgency.

Auto with meter off. Smoother animations and no more running right past the ball...

Auto Fielding with the basic button press for throwing. I also use auto base running. Makes the game really laid back and enjoyable for me.

I was thinking of switching to auto this year, but it’s so rewarding when you’re able to time it right and make a diving grab in the infield.

This. Don’t like to stress so I just let the players play like they should. (Buttons for pitching as well) So I basically control the pitchers and batters and throwing decisions that’s it.

                        Manual with metered throws.

Had some fun running down balls in the outfield with Delino Deshields last night. The Jays hit quite a few balls to the track.

They do that on manual fielding too unfortunately. And there’s no sprint button, so ...

My experience with manual fielding has been pretty good this year. What I’ve found is that sometimes you have to sacrifice beauty and just make the play. A lot of the “silly” errors I’ve had over the years were ultimately caused by trying to take an attractive route and score an attractive catch animation. I’ve cast that idea aside and just play it like a video game, the errors have all but dried up.
                          Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

So it seems that it’s a pretty wide variety. Been too busy at work so finally digging deep into franchise this week. I’m playing as my Red Sox and an NL team not in the East. I want to get to experience every team and with the schedule never changing this is the only way to do it.
