Server Error (Not What You Think)

    Hey guys,

So I have been having an issue with the server errors in my household. It is not the game per say but it is the only game I have the following issue with, so I was hoping I could get some help or advice. I get home from work around 3:45 or 4pm and jump on DD to grind the play vs CPU on rookie team epic missions. When my roommate gets home around 4:30 and jumps on MLB I get a server error and get kicked out of my game. Likewise for him if I get on MLB when he is in the middle of a game. I have also had server errors when roommate #2 jumps on or off his xbox. With the consistency of the issues I am making the assumption that it is an issue with our network and not the actual servers themselves.

For a little background I have a linksys router (EA7500) and charter spectrum internet with 100mbs. I have both the 5Ghz and the 2.4ghz wifi signals, so I am on the 5ghz on my pro while everyone else is on the 2.4. I also have gone into my router settings and opened the ports since my roommate and I were having NAT issues when we would try to party chat with eachother (shush, it is a multi-story house hahaah).

Any help would be appreciated since the lose of progress is keeping me from playing. Thanks for reading guys!

So you guys have multiple PS4 consoles sharing the same network in the same house?

That would appear that you are connecting from the same IP address using multiple PS4 accounts, and SIE might be terninating one of the connections in order for people to exploit games (like DD) using multiple consoles.

That's the thing though, it is not just with the ps4s. I could be in the 7th inning of a DD game and then one of my roommates gets on or off of his Xbox one and I will get a server error from that as well. I am 8-8 in RS and all but one of my loses (literally) are from getting a server error in the middle of a game and it's really discouraging. I actually completely stopped playing RS 2 weeks ago because of it.

And to fully answer your question we have two ps4s and 1 Xbox one. We did have three ps4s with all of us having The Show but one roommate just moved out this weekend.

Re: Server Error (Not What You Think)

I am not particularly familiar with how gaming consoles handle the situaion, but typically you would need two different IP addresses for the servers to think they are two different systems.

I would try a solution similar to what is discussed in this thread:

Due to having multi consoles in your home you will need to open the ports to fix the issues.

You will need to google the XBOX ONE or XBOX X ports etc that you need to open. I recommend to do the PORT FORWARD not the triggering.
