Re: Talk me into/out of buying The Show 18
The closest thing that OOTP and MLB The Show have in common would be MLB The Show's Manage Only Mode (otherwise known as MoM). There is no swinging of bats or throwing balls in OOTP, the games (if you even choose to play them) are played as if you are the manager not the players. But OOTP goes extremely deep into the GM aspects of managing the entire Franchise. With MLB The Show our Franchises only go as deep as AA teams with a handful of A player you can also promote if you want. OOTP Franchises go much deeper, not only the MLB, AAA, AA teams, but it also allows you access to the High A, Low A and into the various rookie ball teams of your organizations. Heck it even allows you to draw players from other baseball leagues across the globe. Is there another Shoei Ohtani in Japan you want to develop? Or heck you can even start a team from a few years back where you go for Ohtani. OOTP also allows you to replay historical seasons dating back from the 2017 season and all the way into the 19th Century. Want to replay the '27 Yankees or how about replay the year before Babe Ruth was sent to the damn Yankees. This can all be done in OOTP.
The only thing preventing me from picking up the OOTP 19 is I am not sure how often I would play it. Personally I spend most of my time in MLB The Show, but I still occasionally fire up my OOTP 16 release and play some games in there (I have a Montreal Expos historical 1981 season still going with my OOTP 16 game).Comment

So, I gave in somewhat and got OOTP 19. Will it replicate The Show? No. Will it scratch the itch for the time being, we'll see. Fun so far, either way.~ Return of the King ~Comment
