“(Relief pitcher name) getting tired” message after 1-3 pitches?

Having an odd happening the last few games and I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

During my at bat (so say I’m the home team, bottom of the 7th for example), I’ll start warming up a bullpen arm to get ready to bring him in in the top of the 8th. It’s always a guy who either hasn’t pitched in a day or two, and whose energy bar is either all or mostly full. I bring them in in the top of the 8th, and very, very quickly, I get the “getting tired” message. Usually in 3-4 pitches, but last night it happened in ONE pitch - and this was a guy that hadn’t pitched in probably 3-4 days.

Any ideas? I can’t seem to find any rhyme or reason to it. It doesn’t happen to all relief pitchers, but I’d say it’s been happening probably 60-65% of the time. If it was just a UI bug it would be one thing, but as it is, they get that message, and then if they give up a hit to one guy, the landing mark on the meter goes away and it becomes very, very hard to control. (I get that that is a confidence thing, but an RP giving up a hit to the first shouldn’t make their confidence completely shot.)

    Thanks!

Can’t find where to edit the post on the app. Should say “giving up a hit to the first batter...”

I experience this as well. Its completely random i find. Like you said some havent pitched in days and it happens. You could try messing with reliever stamina sliders but i havent gone the route yet. I just try to be mindful which guys im over using, and always have another arm getting loose.

I've randomly seen this as well.

Honestly I just ignore it and go about my business.

Not sure what causes it, but I really haven't experienced it effecting the pitcher that I'm currently using.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I've got a lot of problems with RP this year.

1st- exactly what you have experienced

2nd- RP are getting warmed up too fast then their energy bar is not full (even on many rest days) there's no middle ground. I tried everything, stretch and toss for a longer/shorter period, directly warming up 1 inning before, 2 outs before next inning and so on.

I'm currently warming up (90% of the time I don't stretch & toss anymore as it take too much energy) after I get my 2nd out the inning before the RP comes in... which is unrealistic. Even then, his energy is sometimes full, sometimes not.

Why is this even in the game anyway? What’s it simulating? Telepathy?

You should have to make a mound visit if you want to check a pitcher’s stamina, and furthermore, we shouldn’t even be able to do that: there should instead be in-game signals for a pitcher running out of gas like, I dunno, losing 3-5 mph on his velocity, profuse sweating, heavy breathing & a look of deep concern on his face.

            Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

When pitchers are signed to franchises after they are drafted in real life they surgically install stamina and confidence meters. Its not telepathy. They can check these readings from monitors in the dugouts.

Sorry, this is wrong. Big brother puts these in everyone when they are born. Monitors aren't needed to read stamina & confidence. Managers & coaches have chips installed in their brains so they can read the pitcher's meters. So, it is telepathy. Advanced human engineered telepathy but still. Any monitors you've seen in a dugout is most likely for checking a batter's PCI placement. And pornography.

Not saying I agree with how it's implemented but that's the game trying to tell you that your RP is pitching in a spot that's not suited for him. Example bringing in a 5th or 6th inning guy in the 8th in a 1 run game would cause this to happen.
