You don't have to pick those last names because they are already in the game .. example .. Verdugo of the Dodgers, If I create another player with the last name Verdugo it will say it by default because it's already in the game ...

I do not believe this is true.

First and Last Name audio are independent of the spelling of the names. The game doesn't "know" how to say the last names you set for the players. You still have to select the appropriate audio. If it does not exist in the list, they won't say the last name.

It doesn't work in that way. IE: create a player called "Giancarlo Arenado" and he will never be named by PA or announcers.

So the PA (Stadium) announcer is saying the name? Turn off the commentary Audio (Vasergesian & team) and just listen to the stadium audio.. I don't think its working that way..

Just to be clear... If I create a player... named Yadier Arenado... and I pick name and lastname as... "none" (because, they are NOT listed for The Show) you can assure that he will be named and announce as Yadier Arenado by the presentation announcers and PA announcer. Are you saying it works in that way?

I do not think this works, I am too lazy to go try this right now, but I do not believe this to be true.

What I know IS true...is that if a player was imported from a previous version of MLB The Show into a new version that the name will be said by the PA announcer under the following condition and I will use an example:

Ronald Acuña was added to the game this year as "created player" (CAP), however he is not a normal CAP, he is one created by SCEA.

Next year Acuña will be in the game....if someone were to EXPORT the 2018 version (this year) and IMPORT him OVER the 2019 version (next year) he will still be editable as a CAP and his first and last name will be "NONE".

However, since the game recognizes that the Ronald Acuña import from 2018 is the same player that shipped with the game in 2019, the announcers will say his name and mention any "story line scripts" associated to him.

The reason this works is because any SCEA CAP gets assigned a "token" just like all the other players who are non-CAPs. What this allows is for that player to be identified and his identity persist across versions of The Show, regardless of when that player was introduced into the series.

This allows for any updates to faces, storylines, stats, etc...to follow that player from year to year. This is useful for carry over saves in Franchise mode. Keeping the Acuña reference....if you started a Franchise AFTER SCEA's Acuña CAP was added to the game and you carry that over to next year....you will have the 2019 version of him on your team....why? Because the game recognizes that the 2018 SCEA CAP = 2019 Player. What they have in common is they both share the same "token".

The token identifies who the player is regardless of version. Tokens get assigned to SCEA Players, whether they ship with the game or not. CAPs that we create do not get tokens. Sound and Commentary are associated to tokens which is why you can import a player over another player and keep all audio, provided they share the same token. If you add a first or last name audio, to a player that has been imported, and has a token, he will then be considered a user CAP and it voids everything I just explained. Tokens are hidden and not visible to us, but if you apply the logic I called out here you would know which 2 players are the same.

I wrote all that complex stuff to say.....that you cannot create a CAP and not add a First and Last Name Audio and expect them to say the name but there is an edge case where this happens. But ALL of the above has to be true.

I am sure it works thay way because most players don't even have the field to even edit their names and the audio is there because of the tokens ... just like Madden some names seem to be recognized no matter what ... you don't have to believe me lol but its working in my game

You are missing the point. Of course the SDS players have their name and lastname announced. The question is for created/edited players. As I said (and now I can assure it is true) you cannot create a player named Yadier Arenado, because Yadier and Arenado are not listed.
