    In Season Attribute Penalties/Boosts

Does anyone understand how the rating changes occur? I have had a player playing well (over .300) and he takes an attributes penalty (-1) for contact. At first I thought he was fatigued, but after resting him, the penalty did not go away. I have also noticed some get a boost (+ 1) I also checked morale and it was not effecting his overall... Just curious how this works and what to do to get rid of the penalty (and hopefully get a boost)

team role, contract, coaching, the players place of birth and his current teams region, team performance, how well the player is playing vs what his expectations for himself and his health status all affect his attributes

To add to what Caulfield said, there is also an element of pure randomness to progression/regression.

I actually would really like it, since it's true in real life as well, but regression is so heniously awful in the Show that the random element can end up causing problems.

I would like to see it be more in line with what's going on on the field-- a guy is 2-20 with 8 strikeouts --- he takes a attribute penalty on his contact

A guy is 10 for his last 15 with 4 hrs-- he receives a power boost

I'm 14-0 with the nationals and rendon is hitting .320 -- the only negative is he has yet to homer, but im getting a contact penalty-- and his morale is satisfied-- cant figure it out

Also Trea Turner is 4/4 stealing but taking a speed penalty-- hes hitting .236 but the penalty is for speed -- I would think it should be for hitting

Rendon's overall morale may say satisfied but his desire to play closer to texas could be the root cause.

The National's coaching staff (D) could be the cause of Trea's speed drop.

The first month of the season, players attributes decrease for no real reason. It should start to make more sense once you get past that first month (still doesn't always make sense, but a lot more than the first month)

The problem with this method is that going into a slump and taking a ratings hit would theoretically prolong the slump because the player is now worse. Vice versa for a ratings boost.

I prefer "randomness" but related to the potential rating until a prolonged period of production or slumping necessitates a ratings adjustment.

I fired Simmons and hired a manager to Martinez's likeness who has an A rating

I dug deeper-- it looks like he's not satisfied with his performance as it isnt considered "all-star level" (probably 0 hrs triggering it)
