Breaking the unbreakable hit streak record is anticlimactic

Basically just what the title says... I play every game in my franchise and somehow managed to get my guy to 56 Games... and nothing. Not a single mention of it. Then I break the record with a base hit in the top of the 9th inning and again.... crickets. To add to the irony, the batter behind him in the order came up 0-for-3 and they start talking about the pressure he must feel to extend his hitting streak to 8 Games lol.

How can you stress these minor 7, 8 or 9 game hit streaks so much in the commentary but then once you get to and beyond 56 there’s just nothing for it?

This is exactly why I hire former MLB announcers to come to my house and give commentary.

SDS viewed it the same way you did, i.e. ''unbreakable''.
      Hence, no commentary.

The only commentary you'll ever need. SDS should hire Jim Ross

There's minimal or no commentary for breaking most major records. I crushed the single season strikeout mark with Jake Arrieta in MLB 16 and they never spoke about it.

I was just thinking this morning that I would absolutely love a popup screen (similar to when major free agents sign) when a player on any team, my own or CPU, breaks a major record or hits a milestone. That seems like it would be easy enough to do, and would add a really nice layer of imersion to franchise.

Maybe they leave it to Allegri to talk about it.

The radio show is a nice touch, but I would always rather read about something than listen. I tend to tune it out while I'm reading what's on the screen between games. And a pop up would certainly catch my attention better.

All jokes aside that's very disappointing, especially with baseball being so stat dtiven, and SDS touting the realism of their game.

I've always had a problem with how SDS handles milestones and breaking of records. The same records to break have not changed since at least '08 (didn't play prior to that year). Even the minor things, such as reaching 100 BBs in a season, is not mentioned. I would much rather break the franchise record for hits in a career for the Braves than see who has broken the consecutive saves streak.

I'm dating myself here, but Reminds me of a Bob Newhart skit from SNL. He was a broadcaster that stoically called Hank Aaron's record breaker as a lazy fly ball and then was overly animated about a rountine grounder

                        100 percent this!!!

I've said this a million times, but having a Franchise Record list, a league-wide top 10 or top 100 list of stats... or even having a page where there are certain "clubs"... For example, single season clubs like the 30/30, 40/40... 50-HRs... 20-Wins... 300+ Strikeouts... etc, and have career clubs like the 3,000 hit club, 500/600/700 home run club and whatnot.

And if you're going to have the same eight records that can be broken, then AT LEEEAST make them the MODERN DAY RECORD! Ain't nobody winning 600 games in their career! Lol

The fact that they do so well with their gameplay, but keep neglecting other things to keep people immersed is so frustrating. Even Madden, which sucks, at least tried with their franchise mode

I always thought this was the one thing that MLB2K had over The Show. 2K was great with historical record-keeping and recognition of accomplishments. Waiting for that to come to MLBTS because it is so desperately needed.
