    Question on zone hitting

Have a question on zone hitting...I am noticing that using zone and not moving the PCI, that low pitches are just about impossible to make contact on. Anyone else use this method and see same thing? All my K's come from pitches down in the zone.

I was hoping zone hitting would replicate the old "timing" method where all you had to do was swing at the right time and not have to move the cursor/pci.

Anyway to combat this without having to move the pci around?

Directional is what you need to use for timing.

Directional does not require pci movement? And thanks...

That's correct. If you don't move the pci directional is like the old timing.

How often do you use directional and not aim?

Directional with no moving of the left stick in a Direction to aim = Timing

Zone with no moving of the left stick to move the PCI = Zone with the PCI centered (feedback will show up/down movement based on early/late swings)

If you are using Zone and not moving the PCI, it would make perfect sense that you aren't making contact on pitches outside the PCI area.

Directional/Timing guy here; what's the difference in zone & pure analog?

Aside from the fact that one uses the right analog to imitate swinging a bat and the other doesn't, Zone gives you full control of your PCI movement. Pure Analog lets you control left/right pci movement (by angling the right analog up and to the right or left during the swing), but not up-down - that part is left up to ratings and timing so it's actually more similar to directional in that regard.

The right gameplay settings on Zone can still give you a very realistic experience, even though it is the mode that offers the user the most control with fewer ratings constraints.

                  Re: Question on zone hitting

I've gone back and forth almost on a game by game basis as of late between directional and zone hitting. The struggle is real lol. Anyway if I want to use directional hitting is it still effective to not close an influence (left stick left, right, up or down) when trying to hit or do most of you guys who use directional always choose an influence? I just seem to have trouble trying to figure out which influence to use with certain batter and during certain times in the count so if I can just focus on timing ONLY, wouldn't it make sense for me to just swing with no influence chosen?
