I am also having a hard time adjusting to the latest patch. I was just no-hit by Oakland. I had my difficulty on dynamic but my hitting went all the way down to just above rookie when I was up at all star. My pitching was almost to HOF and was down to veteran. I switched both to AS and got no hit. So now I'm going down to veteran to get my legs under me again before I go back into my franchise. I'm not exactly sure what part of hitting got patched but lately I can't buy a hit.

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
different people like to play different ways. my brother seems to enjoy going 16-0 and averaging 70 points a game at Madden. I don't. It's a video game so I figure whatever people are into is fine. Their 60 bucks, they choose what they enjoyComment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
I understood what he meant perfectly. He is used to winning all most every game on Rookie or Veteran difficulty. Then he wasn't and was wondering what changed.
I understand liking the game and defending it, but, there is a group on this board who answer everything with "your slumping" and just play through it. It's a canned response that is used all too frequently here. Not saying it isn't justified at times. Just not every time.
Honestly it blows my mind when you all know for a fact they make changes that change how the game plays.Comment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
That's funny because I've been thinking that the game has seemed easier since the last couple of patches. Specifically pitching. I play on HoF and when I started my Franchise, it was a really good match for me. Most games were 1 run games to start my season. But lately it's been pretty easy to shut the CPU down. Been pitching shutouts more often. Been thinking about bumping pitching difficulty up to legend. It's possible I've just gotten better. But idk, I don't feel like I'm hitting my spots much better than I ever was.Last edited by Ace1234NY; 06-02-2018, 01:09 PM.Comment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
I haven't noticed any changes to the difficulty, but I just play franchise.
Not sure if anything was changed within Diamond Dynasty and that may be why some see it and others aren't???
Have you tried going down to rookie and seeing if it is anymore difficult or if it plays the same as Veteran did previously?I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

C'mon. The original post was vague, very vague and it got answered. Now if you think the correct response should have been "yeah, I'm seeing that too", that's not canned? There's enough of those to go around too.Comment

There's no definitive way to prove or disprove a causation between a patch and a slump short of devs coming and saying "the patch did/did not change HR rates" or whatever.
Data helps and even that's not definitive. Absent of that is just pure guessing, especially if we're talking about a handful of games.
This applies to all competitive games. Heroes of the Storm, Company of Heroes 2, etc. Just because a patch changed the game, and you lost some after the patch doesn't mean the patch caused it.
You will go through losing streaks.
And if the patch did change things...best you can do is...keep playing and adapt your strategies.
So the answer is always to keep playing. "Canned" or not, it's what you do regardless of the changes to the game. Play. Adapt. Overcome. Win."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
Nobody is being dicks. It's what you said in your original post. If your just a casual gamer and just want to win, then fine. I'm not sure what kind of response you wanted.
You really didn't ask for help and it was quite unclear what you were getting at. I think most people rightfully read you won 99% of your games and you aren't happy now that you can't. Maybe you should have been clearer?Comment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
I don’t understand what your problem is or why you’re trying to act like a smart@$$. My original post I literally said “I was winning 99% of games on veteran.” If that translates to “I was winning 99% of all my games” then you guys need to work on reading comprehension. Usually when someone makes a post about something they notice being different in a game they are looking to see if other people are noticing the same thing, not people who only want to point out that they are playing a baseball game the wrong way. I suggest that being a smart@$$ on the internet doesn’t accomplish much, especially being one to a 33 year old man who really could give a rats *** what you think.
You then ended the post with "What's the deal?" NOT "Are other people seeing this?". So you weren't looking for confirmation. You'd already decided you were right. And now you're being aggressive against anyone who disagrees with you, even going so far as to attack someone who was just trying to help and clarify what you were asking about (or even what goal you had with this thread, which at this point I'm convinced was just to either confirm your bias or just plain fight people).
Our comprehension is just fine. You need to work on communication, and while you are at it, your attitude.Comment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
"I was winning 99% of my games on veteran." Does not communicate that you play on other difficulty levels. You see lots of posts on OS like "I'm batting .220 on veteran directional hitting.". People post their current difficulty because they know that's information people need if they are going to help out. You could have said "When picking veteran in conquest, it was a win 99% of the time." but the way you presented it implies that you only play veteran across all modes.

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
Lol sure buddy, I'm the bad guy. You just proved my point about how clueless and useless some people are on this board. You can interpret my post however you want, but that doesn't mean people needed to respond how they did. There's people who have apologized to me and who have agreed with me. I don't give people crap for how they play the game when they make an observation post on the board, but that's what I deserved I guess for having a "vague" post? I know my communication and attitude are both fine, I have a pretty high grace for people, but I'm not afraid to point out when you're being a dick. I'm not here to please people like you who just want to attack people on the internet for no reason. Have a nice day.Comment

Re: Something happened to the difficulty...
What I don't understand is myself and a few others have engaged in trying to help the OP by offering advice and instead of responding those posts, he chooses to respond to posts that he feels are attacking him.
Comes across as though this thread wasn't created in an attempt to get help but yet bait people into a pissing contest.
Despite what your original post states you have played on multiple levels. So what levels have you played on? What is your experience on the other levels? Is Rookie more difficult?I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
