Re: Starting franchise with the regular season. roster help
Is you profile set so that you manually control all things roster related? And before you get to the end of spring training have you moved players to all levels so that when you roll into the regular season you have your 25 man roster set? I'm assuming if you set it up as you said you took care of this but if something in the profile is set to auto for the CPU it will mess your work up. -

Re: Starting franchise with the regular season. roster help
I have everything set to manual but i skip ST. I start the franchise from the regular season. I make all the roster moves on the roster file and load it when i start the season. And i dont have any players without options starting in the minors.

When Spring Training starts, EVERY player on the 40 MAN ROSTER are considered on the ACTIVE MLB ROSTER.
When you skip spring training, and advance to the regular season, the rosters shrink from 40 to 25. Thus, the CPU will trim your roster down to 25 players (unless you do it before ending Spring Training)
Thus, putting players in the minors BEFORE starting your franchise doesn't make any difference, because when you start your franchise, everyone on the 40 man roster (including those you had in the minors) are "called up" to the ACTIVE ROSTER.
What you need to do is this:
Skip to the last day of Spring Training. (DON'T advance to the regular season yet)
Now, make the roster moves for your team. Send down players you want to start in AAA and AA. Keep in mind, that if those players are out of options, they MUST CLEAR WAIVERS to be sent down.
Once you have the roster set to 25 players for your team (and every other team if you are using 30 team control) THEN you can advance to the regular season.
Starting from the Regular Season doesn't skip the step where rosters are trimmed from 40 to 25. It just SIMULATES it.....Comment
