Re: 1.11 Tomorrow, Link to Detailed Patch Notes included

This sounds like a great step in the right direction.

Since I have made the switch to directional hitting, as my reflexes seemed to have waned in recent years, I would often watch replays, and try to dissect the feedback to what actually occurred.

What I would sometimes notice is that I would get a "good" feedback on my swing, and the PCI would have the ball right smack dab in the center of the "paint splatter".

However, the result could be a swinging third strike. Now, with timing, PCI and swing type all added to the stew, I love how there were results that were not always predictable.

But, when the Timing was "good", Swing was "good", and the ball marker was dead center of the PCI, I did not quite grasp how that resulted in a miss.

I will run a few test games with the new patch/tweak, and see if the results match the input a bit closer.

Further upgrade to infielders to placate the arcade users who could care less about attributes and realism.

Once again SDS should take a page from the NHL game and List each gameplay patch individually for the user to choose from. They cannot please fans of realism and fans of arcade at the same time.

How is increasing urgency on double plays and not having fielders jog for balls in the outfield placating arcade users and deviating away from attributes and realism????
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

          Yeah, I agree.

The ‘urgency’ thing is perhaps a tad dicey IF those urgent throws do not come with a greater opportunity for throwing errors (referring to the clip in their expanded patch notes).

The jogging thing is very clearly an animation glitch and I’m glad that they have addressed it.

As someone who has been fairly vocal about his disapointment in the game this year I just want to say thank you to the SDS team for not only these incredible patch notes(should be an industry standard) but also for continuing to listen to the fans and working to improve the game. Thank you!

Yeah, but this is a needed quality of life change. I've put the game down a bit because it's so frustrating consistently put the PCI where I should and it's a weak grounder (this is beyond the "hey, it's baseball and not everything is a hit" point). This should greatly help with hitting and allow my input to have a greater end result that is more in line with what I expect.

Also...thank you for the up-tick in DP animation speed! I can finally get a slow catcher on a DP when it's a weak grounder.

Re: 1.11 Tomorrow, Link to Detailed Patch Notes included

Finished first game after the patch.

Does the new system apply to the CPU? There was only one ball that was "questionable".

CPU hitter was early, PCI barely touching to the top left of the PCI, and the ball was hit 470 feet (literally).

I was under the impression that would be at best a lazy fly because the PCI is representing he barely go the top edge of the bat under the ball.

CPU might have just gotten a great roll so the hitter gets a bomb of a HR.

Otherwise, I really liked how the ball responded to where the CPU placed the PCI relative to the pitch and timing.

I lost the game 8-6. That "questionable" pitch wasn't the game loser. It made it 6-3. My bullpen made plenty of garbage pitches. SMH.

Since we can't see where our hitter's PCI is on Directional (still don't understand the reason for that...) so I can't comment to that. I didn't get a lot of hard hit balls but scored runs and it might have been the pitcher since I HATE facing Hendricks.

Edit 2: 60% GB rate by my hitters. 10% LD rate.

While I am a firm believer that studios are struggling to keep sim and "other" (not a slight to anyone who doesn't play sports titles with sim as a priority) players happy and should do something drastic to alleviate said issue expeditiously - how is making fielders' reactions more realistic a step in the arcade direction?

I'd truly appreciate the option to have patches, tuners and the like options to activate or download as to help achieve your desired style of play. Hard to knock that idea, but in my opinion this fielder change is a step in the right direction if one's goal is sim baseball. Assuming of course the fielders aren't all Kevin Pillar and Andrelton Simmons clones now.

My only complaint so far is that my 1B didn't flip the ball to the pitcher who was crossing over to cover first for the out, he literally launched it at him. From a sim perspective - at least in my opinion - that specific situation didn't need any change.

Not 5 batters. 5 At Bats. So through a LOT of base on balls, and HBP.

I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I have to say I absolutely love how they made the effort to recently add more detail to the patch notes & then show what the actual changes do. Not needed on all types of game patches, but I think it would be incredibly beneficial to all sports games.
