Something is crazy wrong with hitting

I just did a test game. Downloaded Armors gold sliders which are always good. used todays Indians Tigers game and put a controller on each team. Put hitting on ROOKIE and threw meatballs every pitch just to see what would happen. I saw no hrs, no shots in the gap. I had one shot down the line and the rest were line drives right at the OFer or hard grounders. Meat balls on rookie should have resulted in quite a few HR's. What has happened to this game?

Completely agree. I play the Dodgers in franchise and no hr and very few solid hits since latest patch. I play veteran hitting with directional.

Well I just went into practice w my sliders and settings. Couldn't hit anything w directional mode. Switched to zone hitting and was knocking it out of the park. Really think they messed something up in directional hitting mode.

It's more that Directional is no guarantee to square up the ball.

So if the PCI isn't in the "good zone" over the ball, the hit will tend to be weaker.

I think Directional players that are having problems have two reasonably easy options:

-Increase solid hits - make it more likely that mis-hits are not as "punished" and/or expand the "good zone" of the PCI.

-Increase contact - make it more likely the player places his PCI accurately, leading to more "good zone" contact.

Both of these sliders would seem to correlate to the new system, so if the offense has died for you, this might be the way to go.

I use directional as well as Armor’s excellent sliders and have no problem clobbering the ball. I usually hit 2-3 HRs per game. Sure you get unlucky sometimes, but that has always been the case. It’s the price you pay for using directional which is highly ratings-dependent.

As far as hitting line drives at fielders, that’s just baseball. You’re hitting the ball hard, so you can’t really complain about getting unlucky in one game.

Yet on legend difficulty against the White Sox(directional) I just put up 23 runs on 24 hits with 7 doubles and 5 homers. The 2 before that I had no homers but multiple doubles.

I've been having the same problem as the guy above, but on Veteran and Above with directional. I get 4 or 5 hits a game maybe, sometimes I can go ham in a game, it's all just really inconsistent.

Especially with first pitches, I can get a high change up, right in the sweet zone with a lefty bat with 96 power against a righty and it'll just be a popup or a lineout but the same pitch next time around except this time 3 pitches in is a 440ft shot. The logic is just messed up sometimes and it's a bit too much RNG.
