    Hanging Line Drives

They're kind of ruining hitting for me. Nothing like squaring up a meat ball, sending it to the outfield at 110 MPH and watching the fielder jog 8-10 steps to run it down because it hangs and then dips just enough to allow the fielder to throw their glove up and catch it. Maybe I'm just noticing them more lately since I'm seeing more line drives in general after the patch that was supposed to cut down on the ground balls on balls hit in the center of the PCI. It's not that I mind not getting a hit on every hard hit ball. Line drives sometimes get hit on a line to a fielder. That's baseball. It's that they're just unnatural. A ball hit that hard, with the launch angle to get deep into the outfield, don't act like that. At least not according to the physics I learned. I'm trying to stay more on top of the ball with the PCI but after 1.11 I can hit line drives even with the ball at the bottom of the PCI. Anyone else being driven crazy by this?

Yep, and there seems to be more than one Javier Baez in this game with all the perfectly-timed jumps.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

It seems to happen to some batters far more often than others. Probably a combination of their height, ratings, and batting stance. I can't tell you how many times I've hit a ball on the nose with Harper only to have it fly six feet off the ground like a rocket all the way to the outfielder. But with Rizzo and Bryant, their shots are generally far higher up in the air, whether they're caught or not.
Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.
