    How to Calculate Budget Increases/Decreases?

Alright, so I'm in the 2nd year of my Marlins franchise and I definitely have some room to make some moves this offseason or continue to rebuild(this is a 4-year rebuild at minimum, I'm practicing restraint).

    My totals stand as is:

    Revenue: 79.06m
    Payroll: 48.13m
    Remaining Budget: 48.29m
Projected Bank: 39.33m(could go up because I'm planning on trading off Prado at the deadline and maybe Brad Miller's 2.5m contract as well. I might also buy some extra funds)

    Year 1 they were:
    Revenue: 78.65m
    Payroll: 52.42m
    Remaining Budget: 30.85m
    Starting Budget: 76.00m

How exactly do you calculate your budget increase or total budget year after year?

Also, I think my player salaries per week cost went up even though my total players' payroll went down.

So is that basically a set amount added to pay for players?

God this stuff makes no sense :

It doesnt make a whole lot of sense and the show doesnt make it easy. I have heard several times though that you go to budget and it says for example 1.0 mil/week. You times that by 26 I think and that will give you roughly how much you have to spend on players per week.

      So 1 MIL x 26= 26 mil.

In the negotiation screen it will tell you the salary you are offering (1 yr 6.8 mil) but it will also tell you how much that is a week. Which if my calculator didnt fail me would be around 130K/week. So then 26 mil- 130 k= left over budget....

I think that's how it works....

Maybe next year the show will just come out and say it...

It's not 26 exactly, but that will give you a good estimate on your remaining/available budget. At least that has been my experience.

So the weekly cost additions in the budget for player salaries is a base amount increased each year to pay for players?

Okay, I'm even more confused now.

I traded off Martin Prado, Matt Thaiss, and 3 other prospects for 3 prospects. I traded off about 4.2m in salary for a total of about 200k in salary.

My weekly player salaries cost decreased from 1.7 to 1.6.

Meaning, it's not a set amount added.

So that begs the question, how the living hell does a total 9 million dollar decrease in total player payroll result in an increase in the weekly cost of player salaries???

You're post says you dumped roughly $4M in salary through trades and you're player salaries decreased from $1.7M to $1.6M per week.

But then you mention $9M and your weekly player salary increasing??

That was related to my original point that from 1st season to 2nd season I had a 9m decrease in payroll but an increase in weekly cost for player salaries

UPDATE: disregard. I checked my year 1 Player Salaries cost and it was 2.0m so it decreased by 300k for this current season
