Need some help with my game options

I have a couple of questions about game options settings.

NolanRyansSnowmonkey showed me how to customize the options and name it so when I play a game in "Play Now" I can choose that custom game options and create different options and name them different so I can choose which one I want to use. It's been working very well so thanks again NolanRyansSnowmonkey.

If I have a custom name and want to edit the options for that name how do I go into that options setting and edit it and save it to that name?

I just got a 65" Samsung 4k UHD TV and wow this game is so much better in 4K !!!

Also, I tried to figure out "On the Road" and I messed up the setup, can it be deleted and then I can start a new one that is right.

I just now had time to really check the threads, so you may have already figured it out. You just need to go into User Settings. At the top left it will then show your current Profile Name (it will say L1/R1) next to it. Hit L1 or R1 until the Profile Name that you want to change appears. Then, go and change whatever settings you want to change. When finished, hit Circle to exit. It will give you options such as Use as Default, Apply Changes, or Discard Changes. Pick "Apply Changes", and now that Profile's settings are changed.

I just now had time to really check the threads, so you may have already figured it out. You just need to go into User Settings. At the top left it will then show your current Profile Name (it will say L1/R1) next to it. Hit L1 or R1 until the Profile Name that you want to change appears. Then, go and change whatever settings you want to change. When finished, hit Circle to exit. It will give you options such as Use as Default, Apply Changes, or Discard Changes. Pick "Apply Changes", and now that Profile's settings are changed.

No problem! Once you make your settings changes, are you referring to the bottom right "Save Changes" box (underneath "Audio/Video Options")?

If so you do not need to use that box, unless you want to save this as an entirely new Profile Name. If you are just modifying an existing profile (which it sounds like this is the case) then all you need to do is use Circle to back out, and make sure you select Apply Changes.

No need to use that bottom right Save Changes box in this instance.

I hope i understood your "save changes" box question. If it's something different let me know.

I guess i missed the question. Assuming this is the one referring to Road to the Show?

Also, I tried to figure out "On the Road" and I messed up the setup, can it be deleted and then I can start a new one that is right.

To start a new Road to the Show, you can start a new one by just selecting Road to the Show on the main menu, and choosing Start New. I think you can have more than a few different Road to the Show's at once. Just "Start New" for each one.

If you want to delete the old one completely, go to Data Utility, and choose Delete files. Scroll down until you find the file you want deleted (make sure you pick the right file) and push X. Select yes when it asks if you want to delete it.

To start a new Road to the Show, you can start a new one by just selecting Road to the Show on the main menu, and choosing Start New. I think you can have more than a few different Road to the Show's at once. Just "Start New" for each one.

Yes, that helped a lot, I was able to delete the "Road to the Show" files. I'm taking it slow trying to learn each thing one at a time. By next year I might even be good..........LOL

Today I ran into a little bit of a problem I hope somebody can help me out with. I was playing the game and having quite the game for the first time ever and all the sudden I got a blue screen with an error message. The message said to fix this issue check for updates since I didn't have a PSN subscription I was unable to download any updates. So I bought a 12-month subscription and once I entered the information Everything came back and I was able to start a new game to play. I noticed that the interface is a little bit different when you're playing in you're logged in PSN, I also noticed that whatever error I got most of Wiped out all my custom options. So I went back into the game settings and try to set everything back to where he remembered having it but I'm having one issue for some reason it's locked on Pulse for pitching, I originally had it selected as but now I'm unable to change it from Pulse two buttons. I hope somebody can help me out with that

2nd question:
Also, another question since I didn't have PSN until today when I played I always played current rosters not daily rosters, I didn't know what daily rosters were. When I started to play I realized that there are different players on my team for this game and I'm sure that has some to do with the daily rosters so I was wondering if somebody could tell me what the differences between the current and daily rosters.

It sounds like you made another PS4 User Profile when you opened a PSN account. If you switch Users from the PS4 Main Menu (not the Show menu) you should have everything back, it seems.

As for the Pulse Question, you asked the same question before. Don't worry about the "Pulse Meter Display" being locked. It will always be locked unless you pick "Pulse" for your Pitching Interface. So just choose Classic, Meter, or Pure Analog for Pitching Interface and you should be fine.

Yes, I had to make another user profile after I signed into PSN for the first time my old one that you helped me create was gone?????

When I go into a game ( choosing 2 teams and playing a game while I control one team ) I always used buttons to select my pitches and there was no pulse that was pulsing while I was selecting my pitch. When I asked about it last time it was different but I will go back through the threads and see if the answer last time fixed it.

Now when I play instead of acknowledging that I can't login to PSN it just logs me in and everything changed? not sure if it was the error or something else. I did see an entry about the error and next time I go into play a game later this morning I will read it and reply back as to what it said. All I know is after I purchased the PSN 12-month subscription and logged in for the first time there was an update for MLB The Show 18, I downloaded it and applied it or it applied itself and one I did that a lot of things were different. I know now all the online stuff shows up as before they didn't and I understand why but not sure why things changed. when I go to play a game later I will see if I can choose to not log in to PSN and see if my old profile is available then? I just know it isn't available when I am logged in to PSN so I had to create a new one and that is where the pulse option while pitching shows up. I know or believe last time I mentioned the pulse I was unaware as to why it was happening. I will go back and read your answer about the pulse in pitching and see if it is the same problem but I don't think so, then again I am 60 so who knows, enjoy your memory as for when you get older it is not as good.........lol

I want to address the last part of your reply about PSN and updates:

So I assume I will have a learning curve on any new game I try to play. For now, I am focusing on learning MLB The Show 18 and I appreciate all your help NolanRyansSnowmonkey. You might see I changed my avatar to the Astros instead of the Twins. I live in Minnesota but lived in Houston for 15 years in the late 70's and 80's... nothing you cared to know I am sure but since your name has Nolan Ryan in it, I thought I would share.

Okay back to the issue of updates and PSN:

All I know is when I didn't have a subscription to PSN and turned on my PS4 and played around with MLB The Show 18 the first thing it would say is you cannot connect to the PSN and I just clicked "OK" and when on playing. I didn't think I needed PSN as I wasn't planning on playing online.

When I was in the middle of a game yesterday and got that error it said to fix this issue check for updates. I checked for updates and once again was told I couldn't connect the PSN. So I thought maybe I have to have a subscription to PSN to get updates ?? I read that you said you didn't think I had to to get updates and I believe that but I know I couldn't get updates.

I did have a Sony Entertainment Network account and the username on it was my username on my PS4. So today after the error I bought a 12-month subscription to PSN then when I opened MLB The Show 18 instead of it saying I couldn't connect it just went into the game. I assume now it is set to automatically connect to PSN when I play any game but I know for sure it does with MLB The Show 18.

As soon as I started my subscription and opened the game I saw all kinds of updates downloading, it was downloading all the updates for the 5 games I have. It took forever today to download everything because my connection speed for the PS4 Pro is very slow, not sure why my ISP is over 225 Mbps and the test I do on my ISP download speeds every day show I am getting over 225 Mbps each time I test.

So today I am running a LAN Cat6 from my router directly to my PS4 instead of using the WiFi. I read on the Internet that PS4 is notorious for very slow download speeds so I am not sure this will help but I know it has to be better to have a LAN connection rather than WiFi.

Back to my 2 main issues now since I went through this whole process today. When I open MLB The Show 18 now that I have PSN I get a different homepage, I will attach a pic of the Home Screen I have now that I didn't ever have before PSN. Also now I have all kinds of music playing while I am on the Home Screen or going through the menu which I have no idea where that came from and can only assume it is something to do with having PSN now. I'd like to turn it off and I am searching the Internet to find out how to.

Last thing: About my game options that you helped me create a custom one. When I went back into the game it was gone and I only had,

I went back to the post where you showed me how to create a custom profile for game settings and created one and this time the pulse was not a problem ?? so as long as I use my custom on I just remade today the pulse is no longer there, I have no idea why it was there and locked so I couldn't select buttons earlier when I replied to your post but it is allowing me to select buttons now so that issue is taken care of.

Thats very odd about the Music. Maybe there is a good reason, but normally the music plays on menu screens unless you turn it off, regardless of connecting to PSN. When it comes to PSN, i don't know much lol. I just don't use it except to download updates to some games. It will connect automatically though, unless internet on ps4 is turned off.

When it comes to PSN, i don't know much lol. I just don't use it except to download updates to some games. It will connect automatically though, unless internet on ps4 is turned off.

I'm learning each day I learn something new. I am focusing on pitching and hitting for now and then I will add fielding. Once I get comfortable I will start to increase the difficulty.

It is strange before I got PSN I had no music, I found the jukebox and there were several albums and I deleted them all no now music anymore on the homepage.

I seem to be doing well thanks to you !! A side note in the 80's I lived in Houston TX and when Nolan Ryan came to the Astros in 1980 I saw his first game and saw him pitch many games. They were in the National League in those days.

Yeah that's really cool about Nolan. i used to watch Nolan pitch for the Rangers later in his career. He was usually the only bright spot on those teams lol. He was pretty amazing to watch, and fame never seemed to change him.

I went to his last game in a Major League uniform (he didn't pitch, his career was over due to an injury a few days before). It was also George Brett's final game of his career. During Brett's final At Bat, everyone in Arlington Stadium, and both dugouts stood and applauded to honor him. He finished his career that day by sending a base hit up the middle and the crowd roared. It was something even Texas fans wanted to see that day.
