How Progressive will MLB the Show 19 be?

With the way the game is changing, it will be interesting to see how the game evolves.

Was disappointed that the developers, knowing Ohtani was coming, did not adjust the game to allow players to pitch and play in the field.

Now, we have the TB Rays and their bullpen game starting philosophy, which I believe a couple of other teams have tried. They probably won't do it, but it would be nice if you could adjust your rotation to do a nonstandard setup, like 4-man or even, a bullpen game.

Hopefully SDS will step to the plate, so to speak, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Manager and front office tendencies or "quirks" could encompass all of this. For example have the bullpen/rotation logic tied to Cash for the rays. Joe Madden regularly hits his pitcher in the 8 spot, which the game does now. I signed him as my manager in my Braves franchise and the opening day lineup automatically had my pitcher in the 8 spot, so I know there's something thats got to be specifically tied to him. Hopefully they will expand.

I know it's not ideal, but the way to do this now is to insert the first relief pitcher you'd like to start with into that slot on your starting rotation, and then change it back after the game. 4 man rotations require constant shuffling, of course.

That's what I was thinking - or just leave the reliever in #5 since that's "bullpen day".

4-man and 6-man rotation need to be options.

I'd like to try a 6 man rotation, any suggestions on how to do that?

Here's how I'd do it - going to use names from my franchise just for ease of reference.

              Rotation:
              1. Boeve
              2. Paris
              3. Morales
              4. Kiser
              5. Kane

              LR1 (#6 holding spot)
              Engle

Once Kane takes his turn, I put Engle at #1, move Boeve, Paris, Morales, and Kiser down, and Kane goes to the holding spot (LR1)

              1. Engle
              2. Boeve
              3. Paris
              4. Morales
              5. Kiser

              LR1
              Kane

Once Kiser takes his turn, repeat the process: LR1 -> SP1, old SP1 to SP4 move down to SP2 to SP5, old SP5 -> LR1.

              1. Kane
              2. Engle
              3. Boeve
              4. Paris
              5. Morales

              LR1
              Kiser

So, basically, no shuffling until #1 comes back up. That way you can put in who you want at #1, the game proceeds down your list as normal (no skipped turns or short rests), and when back to #1, repeat the "replace, move, and bump" process.

Will the LR1 be put into simulated games or will it recognize that he needs the day off?
This way does seem easier than my current attempt, thanks!

I don't know for certain, but if he's worn out because he just started a full game the day before, I'm guessing he'd be used only if absolutely needed.
