Out of town scoreboard anomalies. Apparently the Dbacks are up 4-3 on the Padres in San Diego, but the Dbacks are the road team hitting in the 1st which means the Padres have yet to face a pitch.

This is already in the game. I've made sure to pay close attention to it and you can hear the pop of the catcher's mitt when they show a pitcher warming up in the bullpen. You may not always hear it because they might cut away too quickly sometimes but it is there and I have heard it.Atlanta Braves

Yes!!! I use meter pitching too and I can't count how many times I've screwed up because the ad will change right in the middle of my delivery. That's not the way that's supposed to work. The official MLB rule is that the advertisements behind home plate are only allowed to change between innings.Atlanta Braves

Re: Addition of Little Things....
Here is what I don't understand about the commentating, I've played Madden 19, (first time since Madden 16) and I was absolutely blown away by how different the commentary is. It sounded so much more alive and like a real game. I don't know how they did it but it was awesome. I never played much of the 2K series, but I did buy and play a special edition version of the game that they came out with one year after the World Series was over (2005 or 2006) and the commentary on that game was pretty good. Of course it had the whole ESPN deal with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. I don't know how they can improve the commentary for The Show (it's better in 2018 than previous years) but there's still a lot of work to be done. I think what makes it so bad is how quickly you start hearing the same lines over and over again about a particular pitcher or hitter. That to me is the most annoying thing. Every game we get the same scoop on the pitcher or hitter. Change it up. Give me something new.Atlanta Braves

Over the course of one game? Yeah Madden has good commentary. Over the course of a season or god forbid multiple seasons. They say the same stupid cliches and sayings often and don't talk enough about in-season trends or stats.
The show doesn't have the flashy updated commentary talking about has been happening during the current season like Madden. But it shines in Franchise over the course of 162 or a rtts career.
Madden's commentary is geared for one-off play now and ultimate team games.
The Show's is geared for long term sim players.
Would be a complete mistake to move away from their current formula. Better writing and announcer enthusiasm sure! But not bringing up the previous 2018 storylines season when I'm in 2021. Which unfortunately they've already slowly done with some play commentary.

Re: Addition of Little Things....
The way forward for sports commentary is surely to dynamically sew the content together based on what is happening. I can't see any other solution to the problem of repetitive commentary. The same techniques used by AI bots (Siri, Alexa) but without the vast library of responses that they require. There'd be data in the background that they could also pull from in order to generate discussion points about a player or team. I'm sure they already do this to a certain extent especially when it comes to the radio show and reporting scores of games and standings.Comment

Yeah. I just think for things like a guy hitting his 1st career HR, we need more than just the 1 single line from Pleasac about him knowing where he was 50 years from now. That's the kind of stuff that makes the commentary annoying in The Show.Atlanta Braves

The reason I can tolerate football video game commentary better than baseball video game commentary probably has a lot to do with 16 game schedules vs 162 game schedulesOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23
