    Amazing feats, records, streaks, etc.

What are some of your most memorable streaks, records, performances, etc. in The Show.

In my last game I hit a grand slam with Kyle Schwarber in the first inning. Then he came up in the second inning with the bases loaded again, and belted another one. If that wasn’t crazy enough, this was the second time this season he’s hit two grand slams in one game. Entering September that may have put him over the top for the NL MVP, as long as he doesn’t have an absolutely horrendous final month.

This got me thinking, I know there’s been a few guys to hit two grand slams in one game, and in case some don’t know Fernando status hit two in one inning, but I would be almost willing to bet there’s never been a player to hit two grand slams in one game twice in the same season.

For me the one that sticks out right now is the most recent, where in the span of 5 games I threw 4 shutouts including 3 in a row. I only allowed 1 run in the other game.

That always helps the ‘ole team ERA.

I have Three 20+ game win streaks this season, one which broke the records at 34. Also right now on September 2nd Khris Davis has hit 60 HR's on the season. He has a very slim chance to eclipse the single-season record of Barry Bonds. yes, I said it... of 73 home runs.

Schwarber was on track for it for me but he cooled off a bit. Right now he has 46 with a week left in August. He could break the Cubs franchise record of 66 but I doubt I could get to 73.

I think I already posted it in another thread, but it would have to be the 2018 season for Mike Trout. Won the triple crown, broke the single season records for RBIs, home runs, hits, and became the first member of the 90/90 club.

Craziest part was, while I did pretty well with most of the rest of my team as well, their stats were well within reason. Trout is just on another level.

              90/90?

              90 home runs?

93 Home Runs, 92 stolen bases, if I recall correctly.

                Can hardly believe it myself.

The next highest home run total in all MLB was teammate Bryce Harper, who was rated 99 contact, 99 power, and 78 vision VS RHP. He managed to hit 49. It was a very good year.

Trout was on pace to break the record in 2019, but then he broke his leg and was out for 2.5 months. He still managed to smack 63. The next highest total was Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder (called Alex Shimizu) at 52.

I'm 9 games into 2020 and he's hit 6 so far. The next highest in the league is a whole host of people at 2.

Never anything too super human. I had like a 40ish game hitting streak with Miguel Cabrera.

A rookie pitcher who didn't have very good ratings <70 overall but good h/9, only called him up because he was tearing up AAA. Was dominant in the MLB, but the team could never get him runs so he was like 1-9 with an ERA around 2 lol.

Eric Thames I hit 4 HR in one game with, came up to bat to get record breaking 5th in the 9th, smacked one but it died out at the track.

Oh also hit for the cycle twice in one season with Eric Thames, he mashes for me.

And in the opposite direction I might be one pace for an all time bad season from my bullpen. Besides my lrp, who's now a starter because of an injury. And Al Albuquerque the bullpen Era is somewhere around 10.

I just had a game where I had a home run, a double, and a triple with Bryant. He came up for the fourth time in the eighth and I lined a ball into the right field corner... I ALMOST held him up. But I went ahead and took the double. Should I have stopped at first? Haha. I've never hit for the cycle in this game. I finally threw a perfect game a few years ago, but I've never hit for the stinking cycle.

Have mixed feelings about setting crazy records or achievements. I want my game to be realistic and if i do set anything crazy i usually re adjust the sliders in the next season. I threw 305 K's with Archer this season in 200 innings. Guess it's not completely out there but still feels too much. I just wouldn't find it fun to hit 90 HRs with someone!

I hear you and I get it, but I caution you about balancing around the highest players. Also, remember that my carry over is from 2014, so my Mike Trout isn't the real Mike Trout.

As long as their is the potential to play poorly, you're at the right balance. For example, in 2019 I traded for George Springer at the deadline. He batted around the mendoza line and only hit 5 home runs total (including the off season) his entire tenure on my team. This was the same year Mike Trout smacked 63 despite being out for 2.5 months.

Manny Machado, despite being on my team for 2.5 years, never lived up to his real life form. He was always a good defender (though I've had better, I liked him better at SS) but his bat was incredibly unreliable.

Buster Posey's batting ability fell off a cliff while he was on my team. Even following my anti-regression rules, I had to allow his regression to go through because he was playing so poorly.

I can understand why you would look at a record breaking season like Trout's and think my game is unbalanced, but you have to allow for the possibility of record smashing players. Trout doesn't exist in a world of unreasonable numbers, he's just the GOAT.

I agree for the most part. I always say any stats have to fall within my, “realm of believability.” Having 300 strikeouts is pushing it, but it’s believable. As in, it could possibly happen. Having 90 home runs... man, that’s REALLY pushing it for me. But I suppose... maybe. However, you probably need to manual injure Trout for a year at some point to represent his PED suspension. Hahaha.

In my Reds franchise last season I had a 42 game hit streak with Jose Peraza last season. I thought that was pretty cool. He finished with a .291 avg. This season he is hitting about .240. Think the longest hitting streak I have had since is 16 games with Votto.
