Starting to think this game was tuned for Pure Analog pitching & No Feedback hitting

Everyone knows I've never been shy to proclaim my disappointment with this game over the years. This year was the same, as evidenced by my other 150 games thread. However, in a last ditch attempt to save the game for me this year, I decided to do away with meter pitching and turned off all Swing Feedback and I gotta say, it's like an entirely new game.

I've been a meter user for years, but Pure Analog pitching gives you complete control over pitch location. If you're early, it goes high. If you're late, it goes low. The ball goes where you aim the stick on the upswing. The game doesn't dictate where the pitch goes, you do and it's great. It takes some getting used to, but once you are, it's simply so much more realistic than meter and it gives the user so much more control.

Swing feedback is broken. I've had it on since the game was released and I never understood why solid contact went nowhere. So I turned it off and wow . . . the difference is night and day. When you're on a pitch, you know it. When you're not, it shows. The hitting just feels right and organic with swing feedback completely off. I'm amazed that these two changes could freshen the game for me, but they have completely.

Glad to see/hear that you are enjoying the game.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I literally did the exact same thing 3 days ago. Started a new franchise and having a much more enjoyable time.

Pure Analog Pitching is awesome for the reasons you mentioned. I absolutely love it and can’t go back to anything else. However it is much easier to dominate the CPU once you master it because you can paint the corners more consistently, but tweaking the control and consistency sliders helps.

Agree with that. I try to adjust sliders to balance it.

Always played PA since it was added to the game. Feels most realistic to me.

If you’d only get used to classic pitching and directional hitting, then you’d have true simulation baseball.
