Is there ever going to be full minors and a longer draft?

Or if not full minors, at least a few more levels?

Even if it just went: Short A, A, AA, AAA that would be cool. Could then up the draft rounds to 25 or maybe 30, with most of those players drafted going right into Short A, with maybe an "instructional" league where you just stashed 15 or so players in the organization not on one of those minor league teams.

Would add a lot of realism to the game! Just sayin'.

Re: Is there ever going to be full minors and a longer draft?

My biggest want/desire/wishlist item for franchise mode is for them to expand the rosters to 125 players. I'm wanting to have Rookie, A, AA, AAA, and MLB rosters. I'll even settle for 100 player rosters right now by making single A 25 man rosters.

Until they expand the rosters to at least 100 players (this will mean a total of 300 additional players get added to rosters), franchise mode will continue to have the issue of a short draft and good/great players sitting in free agency. The AI, and even myself, have a difficult time balancing out their 90 man roster spots with stars, good players, role players, journeymen (depth) and prospects. There just isn't enough spots.

I'm hoping with all that I have that for '19, at the very least we get 100 man rosters. I don't care if Single A is playable or not, I just want myself and the CPU to have enough roster spots to build a roster that doesn't leave good players in free agency.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

my best guess is it will only happen after there's a PS5 for the Show and after they stop making the Show for the PS4. So if the PS5 comes out in 2020 and it becomes exclusive to the 5, going by the same time frame the Show stopped appearing on the PS3 (Show 17?), that would put it Show 2023. That's my best guess.

A playable single A was one of the best things about MVP Baseball 2005.

That and the energy rating separate from the durability rating plus the plate disciple separated from the swing aggression.

I still think the reason player retirement might seem to happen to early to a few players for some people's taste is that with 90 players to an organisation, the draft is currently too long. I wonder how difficult it would be to have an option to set the amount of rounds to be lower than it currently is, if you wanted to lower it and have current players delay retirement? I'm almost ashamed to admit I cant even remember how many rounds the Show has, is it 10? Maybe if you can choose to have it at 6 or 7 would be a better mix for some of us until SDS can get 165 players to an organisation. Then maybe increase it to a 20 round draft. For a 40-45 round draft you'll probably need a 225 man organisation and I dont really expect that many to ever happen to the Show. I wonder how OSFM and historic roster makers would feel about having 6900+ players to a 30 team/free agents roster file?

Personally, I just want the expanded roster so we can have more realistic injuries. Right now realistic injury rates will run into major roster issues.

I don't really need it to be playable (although simmable would be nice). I know that's a huge ask, especially considering the effort needed to expand the stadium pool for a very small percentage of players.

I very much doubt it will happen anyways though. Year to year saves are amazing, but they also hamstring the types of improvments that can be made to some degree.

Draft is currently 10 rounds. Didn't it used to only be 7 rounds on The Show? Still, the 90 player roster limits really kills you and leaves so many good players in free agency because of it.

I don't expect anything to change until we get the PS5 version of the game and the first one of those will be 2021. Also, hopefully the PS5 will be backwards compatible with at least the PS4 games. It would suck majorly if it's not.

I thought it was 7 rounds as recent as Show 15 or 16 but I cant recall for the life of me ever hear any mention of news of expanding the draft but I did think I noticed it was up to 10 rounds. I usually play one season and done except for my original Show 14 carry-over. Even then I pay very little attention to drafting. The baseball draft just isn't as shmexy as the NBA or NFL draft or NCAA football recruiting for that matter. And with baseball being my favorite sport, it pains me to admit it.
