I think it makes it in.

Might have to be via patch (aka Rockies new scoreboard) but I think it makes it in.

Misunderstood what the thread was about because of title. I figured it was GONE maybe it fell over because of the Kingdome implosion.
But yeah, like jaffith, it will always be safeco.

Thread title is so misleading. I thought it had been deleted from the game or something crazy like that.

Pretty sure it will be in. It was announced over a month ago (see the MLB Off-Topic Thread) the Safeco sign was also removed around that time as well.

Does that mean they will wear purple uniforms now?

The worst change for me was when they changed ‘The Jake’ to Progessive Field.

safeco does sound better but since its just trading one corporate entity for another, I'll survive. But god save the queen when Wrigley becomes ’’Walgreen's Wrigley Field’’ or Fenway ’’Raytheon Park’’.

Exactly. These stadiums that go to corporate sponsorships after not having them, well it just sounds weird. We've lost Jacob's Field and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington within the last 5 years. I'm surprised the others are continuing to hang on. The only ones left are

                  • Oakland Coliseum (It's had a few over the years and only doesn't have one now because corporations stopped paying to sponsor a dump)

It's actually more than I thought it was, especially considering how new Marlins Park and Nationals Park are. New stadiums almost always have some sort of naming rights as part of the plan to quickly make money to pay off the debt of building it.

There’s a few, mainly historic ones, in that list that will always stay the same in my opinion but it’s only a matter of time for the likes of Miami.

If Miller Brewing Co. ever stops funding their naming rights to Miller Park, I am going to go bat-**** crazy.

The only way that can happen is if they get another beer sponsor to replace it.

Kohl's Park just doesn't have that ring to it. Perhaps 'Pabst Blue Ribbon Park' or 'Shlitz Stadium'? lol

At least it's not as bad as "Guaranteed Rate Field", with a big *** red arrow pointing down! I still call it Comiskey. Hate corporate sponsorships.

Yeah, that is the worst stadium name and logo in sports.
