Good points. If you've logged that many hours with the game and aren't just there to stroke their ego and actually pass along some of the issues this community has with the game, then I'm all for it. I just feel it's time SDS started listening to the HARDCORE gamers (such as yourself clearly) and not just fanboys stroking their proverbial egos and making them think they can rest on their laurels and continue getting our money every year with a product that isn't as innovative as it needs to be.

That fact that many of you assumed the guys they brought in are the thing you say in here shows how little you deserve to be heard.

OS used to be for everyone. It used to be about ALL the game modes. It used to be EVERYONE got a voice without judging who someone was or what they've done or what they played

Now everyone sees a YouTuber or Twitch streamer as assumes instead of doing actual research. You know who else did that last week?

Sickens me that this place has come to this.

I hope you guys get what you want out of the game. But I'm done dealing with this type of person.

I literally just said I consider you a hardcore gamer and that if you've logged that many hours with the game, then clearly you were the right choice to bring in. Please stop assuming I'm a certain type of person just because I question authority. It's those who question authority that invoke change. Perhaps others in this thread "assumed" you were a certain way because you were a twitch streamer. I don't care if you're a twitch streamer or not, I just want improvements in the game, bro.

It’s a shame OS became scorched earth. Community day was a big event here and something I treasured going to for 5+ years. The information was tremendous.

They have their own forum now, so this is essentially a rival. (even if it does have a very different clientele) The Shownation site will always get priority as it's their own, but tbh they are rarely even on there. (I don't blame them, it's a bit of a cesspit)

Also, this site is the place for Franchise players, but franchise hasn't been a priority for a pretty long time now. The vast, vast majority of their interaction with the community is related to DD, so wouldn't be that relevant here.

I think it's just a reality that the focus of the game has moved on from the focus of this forum, combined with the developers moving to make their interactions a lot more announcement based, rather than discussions. I don't think that had much to do with them not liking negativity, or even not liking being asked questions they had no answer to, but just preferring to deal with things on their own terms. I doubt its really even their decision, it seems much more like a directive as a lot of the guys seem like they'd love to just chat about the game

Agree. Alas some here think it's the fault of people like me. I tend to be outspoken. Apparently that's frowned upon.

I feel obligated to post more than just a like on this post considering I attended community day once. The interaction between the devs and OS's community back in those days was truly special. For those who may be newer to this site, look up some of the really old posts from Chris_SCEA_Sports and Brian SCEA with the forum search (circa 2007 for the height of it, I think). A lot of what they told us back then we wouldn't have been able to find out any other way.

Somewhere along the line, we lost that.

And you wonder why the devs don't come here for opinion anymore.

I think it's "fair" that developers would visit here less often if they felt poorly treated, but I also feel this is partly their own doing. If it were obvious that they were trying to improve things across the board with the game, that would be one matter. But, when they have been blatantly going in the ultimate team/DD/pay xx for stubs/packs route for about 2-3 years now, I feel they'd be wise to consider their role in creating the present situation. When they tell us over and over, both explicitly and implicitly, that some paying customers don't matter as much as some others because the telemetry data say x, y, or z. Things get a wee bit toxic as you might expect. Some of the people who feel 'forgotten about' have sunk in thousands of hours creating content in the form or rosters and sliders and testing things out. SDS would not be where it is if not for that relationship.

There are a lot of people that I'd rather not tolerate around here either. Frankly, this site hosts some immature jerks among its ranks (like me!) but I have to imagine ignoring this group will prove unwise and the quality of the game will undoubtedly suffer for it.

News flash - OS doesn't matter. It hasn't for a while. Why? Entitlement. At some point the crowd around here started thinking we were god's gift to sports gaming, and it showed. We shunned gamers who enjoy Ultimate Team modes. Not ignored them - literally attacked them because they liked something different than us.

And if you think it's because we like franchise mode? Second news flash - 90% of my content is franchise mode and I didn't get ignored. Guys like Bengal and MrHurricane and all kinds of franchise players ALL have voices. Why? Because they don't feel like they're entitled to it. They want the game to be better, not better for them.

It's still happening here. The replies are all "What can we blame on the devs" when the devs NEVER had to come here.

Look in the mirror. That's why OS is what OS is now.

And, FWIW - "Ignoring OS" has created some of the largest sales numbers all of the sports games have seen.

So, yeah, we're not missed.

I don't know if it will be the same in '19, but in '18 if you view the credits, OS is thanked for their feedback and continued support, which makes me think that while they don't interact, they still read and value the feedback they receive from the site.

And one other thing I'd like to say is that last year when my franchise file didn't carryover the way I had hoped, Chris and I think it was Luis reached out to me via PM and we went back and forth for about 45 minutes or so discussing the issue and they were trying to figure out the issue and how to correct it. They figured out the issue, which was my mistake, and explained why it happened and offered workarounds.

I say that because there is some thought that they simply don't care about us here anymore and I don't believe that is the case. They just choose to not interact, but still value the opinions and feedback from the community at OS.
