We desperately need a roster editor!

I had a lengthy post regarding the reasons.. but I'm not sure its necessary, the reasons are completely self explanatory.

Very simply; how can we make this happen? who's palm do we have to grease? who's pocket do we have to line?

I saw at one point someone was working on this with the creator (or a collaborator) of the NBA2K Ultimate Mod, does anyone happen to know why that died on the vine?

Has anyone even been in direct contact with SDS regarding this? Is there anyone from SDS that is active on the forums that could be approached?

I'll buy a dev kit if that what it takes!

The tool would be priceless. The possibilities, endless. An Editor is the only thing that prevents this from being the best sports game on the market today, arguably ever.

This isn't just a want, its a desperate need. It simply takes too long to create great rosters in-game.

Its time to make this happen.

Totally agree. The MVP series had one and it was awesome. If I remember (it's been a while) you could even place people on the DL.

Just to wait out the doldrums of the offseason, I've been updating the rosters. But it is a major CHORE. Between roster restrictions and how you can only move ML/AAA/AA players from team to team one at a time ... ugh.

I've been pretty spoiled, having come over from Madden PC.

You can crank out a roster a week with those Editors, if you're not totally obsessed with details anyway... baseball is all about the details.

The '87 roster set is amazing in every way. I can replay the 90s.. Junior, Big Unit.. Big Hurt.. Glavine.. Smoltz.. A-Rod.. Biggio... how much MORE amazing would it be to have stats and service time and stats already in the game, to be able to measure them against the amazing seasons Roger Clemens had.. or Doc Gooden.. Darryl Strawberry.. Boggs.. Mattingly.. Big Mc

The Show is a great experience. Baseball deserves a mind blowing one, in line with its immense history.

yeah not gonna happen with PS4 because of the encryption we could only dream. it would be so much easier to clone players and move them across then spend outs exporting importing etc.

This is where PC is a living god for Sports games when it comes to customization you can even do your own jerseys

Sony has such a good thing going right now, owning the MLB video game space. MLB isn't allowed to sign any new licenses for the time being with other manufactures. Doubt Sony would parse their license out to PC.

They claimed to have unpacked the files in the thread I mentioned above.

But they obviously couldn't repack them and get them back into the game.

.. its a total bummer. It would take months to sim seasons to populate stats and service time. It would probably take YEARS to populate them accurately.

I guess the good news is, with year to year saves, at least the work only has to be done once. But what a grind!

I think ALL sports franchises need to look into this. I think enough evidence exists that there is a community out there who would take this and run with it.

Fallout devs allowed certain mods to be used on consoles, and while that kind of flew under radar, it was pretty groundbreaking as far as consoles are concerned.

SDS introducing a roster tool, would have a bigger impact on the sports community.

There is one simple reason why Sports games will never allow it.. $$$$$$ they would lose a percentage of sales because lots of people will skip buying one year because they can get a roster update done with the older game.

There are lots of people I know (and myself included) that buy sports games only for a roster update because nothing more more has changed

Well they're going to lose sales when people like me refuse to buy the game anymore.. I create WBC rosters and instead of being able to carry them over every year I'm forced to export/import every single player and make all the trades. I'm officially done. Spent 1000 upon 1000 of hours doing this and I'm wiped out.

This will never happen because nobody can seem to crack the encryption Sony has on the PS4.

I enjoyed using the MVPEDIT for MVP05 back then and if there was such an editor for this game it would opening up so many things, but I asked in 2013, again in 2015 and now were in 2019 if it hasn't happen by now I doubt it ever will well until they make this game on PC and they will never do that.

Trust me if there was somebody out there that could have taken the MVP editor and converted it to work on this game it would make roster editing so much better and faster.

That never mattered because REAL players were never in that game, they were all fake players so that was easier to update every year then have real players stats looks portraits audio etc
