I have 2 favorites for different reasons:

    - MLB 11 The Show for its innovation, that is the year they went all analog for hitting, pitching and fielding.

-MLB 16 The Show for being the last all around best balanced game. This is just before online fixes started seeping into offline play and affecting its performance.

I'd be foolish if I didn't say MLB '18. The PS4 Pro makes the framerate smooth as hell, they finally have a PCI that doesn't lock upon swinging and the responsiveness is vastly improved, plus I love using the MLB Network theme.

There are a lot of other reasons as well, but generally I can't think of many sports game sequels that were inferior as time went on. In a "for its time" sense, I'm sure I can lay claim to some games over others... but not to the point where I'm sitting there saying I'd rather play it more than the other, or I'd rather trade in the newer game and just keep playing the old one. Though I will admit that some versions took great strides for the franchise (as noted above in '11) and some had very cringeworthy alterations, such as the ball physics in '10.

I have no doubt in my mind that '19 will be my new favorite and preferred version to play once it comes out.

11 and 18 are my all time fav’s with a little shout out to 12 for introducing ball physics 1.0.

11 was the last of the “classic” presentation where everything played out, foul balls, batter walkups and rituals, the option for real time presentation vs broadcast presentation, etc. I poured well over 500 hours into 11. It was also the first iteration for the brilliant Jethrotull/Jmyers 1987 full minors roster. I had a blast playing that on 11.

18 for me is the best playing console baseball game ever made. I still love playing it on almost a daily basis and will continue too unless the streams show me compelling stuff to upgrade to 19.

The game for me just gets better year after year. I'm mostly an offline franchise player and like someone said earlier in the thread, in recent years they seem to be focusing on "fixes" for franchise rather than adding new features within the mode.

That being said, '18 is still my favorite, very good experience overall. I'd like to seem them add a feature back into franchise mode where you could set players' up on commercials, radio ads, etc. Just another way to add realism and an ownership feel again. Forget which MLB that was in...may have been when Eric Chavez was on the cover so I guess that would be before it was called "The Show".

MLB 10 The Show for sure thanks to my brother who said don’t do this to yourself playing MLB2K10 🤣. My fondest memory getting on the hype of Angels SS/3B Brandon Wood and hitting only 4 homers and posting an average of .183. This game as well as ‘09 had a soul and all that matter was gameplay. None of the force bs DD.

'08. It was my first "The Show" game and it is still the most played game for me in the series. I had a lot of good memories with that game. It's akin to how VoG in Destiny 1 is my favorite Raid.

'09 might have been my number 1 but the crash to XMB that caused me to start my RttS over kind of ruined that.

Carryover changed everything for me with franchises. No more "get attached and then leave it because new game came out."

Being able to actually carry an organization, have an organizational philosophy and play it out over the years and across versions like I can in OOTP kept me interested in this game. Finally could feel like I'm running an organization and think 5-10 years out with grooming and drafting prospects, trades, etc.

I'm still playing my "MLB14 franchise" now, thanks to carryover saves.

Re: Post your favorite MLB The Show game in the last 10 years and why?

MLB '17 for me, and the last version I bought after buying EVERY version prior. Reason is because the only 2 styles of play I played were nearly perfect before they destroyed them for me.

Season play, enough said, absolutely ridiculous to remove it. RTTS was great when I could decide what team I wanted to play for and could control the stupid trades the AI would make. I also hate that they want to determine where I put my points and put limits on how far I can improve my player.

Do not ask me to pay $60.00 and often more for a game and then tell me how I should play it. PERIOD! Terrible business model and the cause of losing me as a customer unless they convince me that they will let me decide how I want to play and give back what they took away.

I do not play ANY games online and never will. That seems to be the direction they want to go. I loved this game before the changes and truly hope someday they give me a chance to love it again.

I don't know man. I played 10 the other day as I had a franchise saved with the Padres (year 2 game 125). I feel that the fan interaction was crazy. Fans would "oooohhhh" "ahhhh" during missed diving plays, roared with a nice diving catch, etc. Heck, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, the fans were just roaring when I had 2 strikes. The graphics were not too shabby either. I would have to say 10 for me no matter how crazy I am perceived (by the way, was also nice to have ticket and food prices).
