    Call ups/ Send downs Question

In franchise mode how often should I be calling up players from AAA and AA to MLB for MLB injury reasons and sending them back down? What happens if my team gets hit with a lot of injuries should I be calling guys up or signing free agents?

I try not to call a guy up unless he is dominant and ready for the big time. Just like in real life, I try to keep them down as long as possible to avoid having to pay them more money based on service time.
However, I usually only do rebuilds in franchise mode so I bottom out at the beginning. Instead of bringing up a stud prospect I'll add a low level player I'm planning on releasing in the off season.
    That's just me.

It depends on what you're aiming for with your team; in 18 do free agents still ask for multi-year deals? In 17 they do which discourages me from signing them. Usually if I see a position is weak below the MLB level I may go to sign someone for AAA. In 17 you can't see if the player has options; hopefully those are in 18 or will be in 19. nothing like signing someone who is out of options and if I send him down he gets grabbed in waivers. But if I have decent enough players in the minors with options I'll bring up and down depending on the injury situation at the top level.

I also usually let prospects develop in the minors before bringing them up. In addition to the financial benefits, mentioned above, I also don't want to use up one of the minor league options for no reason.
