Since MVP was brought up. It boggles my mind that no one has tried to copy their pitch recognition system from 05. Like not even a single attempt in 13 years by any of the games. Why would you not try and add that in?

The ball spins are so good on The Show now.....I personally don't need a flash of a color to know what is coming.

However for beginners/novice type of players.....it is a nice system. But remember The Show has a guess pitch system which rewards or takes away from guessing right.

Anyway options are never a bad thing.....but I think the MVP system would make it far too easy to hit. It got really easy for me playing that game....and back then the graphics were nothing like they are today so reading a ball spin was simply not an option on the PS2.

Wait, are you saying you read pitches by the spin in MLB The Show 18?

You can actually pick up the spin on the ball in The Show? Guess I need a bigger TV.

Are you guys telling me you can't pick up on a slider or curve ball on the Show out of the hand?

              No way man.

I can tell by the movement, not by the spin.

I play The Show on a fairly small TV, so in real time, I personally cannot pick up the spin. It's all about the movement for me.

That said, when looking in replay, the ball sure does spin differently depending on the pitch.

I'd imagine, with the right setup and camera angle, you'd be able to read the spin of the ball out of the pitcher's hand.

This article pretty much sums up my thoughts much better than when I attempted to do so. I'm buying the game because I love baseball. But I am very frustrated they aren't doing more with the only mode I play in, Franchise.

While we don't know for sure it was untouched, there is a lot of reasons that speculation is on going. I hope that, without spoiling anything, they at least let us know in one the early streams that they have some cool surprises in store for Franchise fans. I think that would help put some unrest to bed.

I love the team behind the Show and I love the game. I'll purchase it without a doubt but if they can't give me more in Franchise the day one purchase will change to the after the price drop purchase.

As someone else said, I can recognize the movement but not the ball spin. I gotta up my game that's impressive [emoji23]
