I really wish the show would go back to early March release

MLB The show used to be realeased the first week of March until MLB 14. For some reason they decided to started to release the games in late march instead of early March. Even madden went back to an early August release last year after about 4 years of releasing in late August.

The reason I like this is because I can run my angels franchise congruent with actual spring training and can kind of see how my moves measure up to the real team. It was nice to go back to early August release for madden last year and compare how my training camp battles played out against the real team.

I get why they do it. They want the excitement of the new MLB season to bring in casuals who may stumble into DD, but I don't think releasing the game three weeks before would change that.

I believe MLB required them to release closer to MLB season start date.

Personally, I'd like to see a March 1st release. That way the roster makers could get a playable full minors roster out there by Opening Day. With it being this late, a franchise/season with real rosters can't really start until almost May.

Again, SDS cant release any sooner then what they currently are doing... It's an MLB requirement to be late March.

That's interesting...I wonder if it's related to the fact that RBI Baseball 19 is releasing on March 5, and that game is directly published and produced by MLB Advanced Media...would seem to make sense that MLB would want their game to get out there first.

Personally, I'd like to see a March 1st release. That way the roster makers could get a playable full minors roster out there by Opening Day. With it being this late, a franchise/season with real rosters can't really start until almost May.

Last year the OSFM roster came out like a week after the game.

Yea I'm not sure, I just remember hearing someone once this was the reason for release date being moved back to late March.

One of the great side benefits back when MLB used to let them release early March, it was like a sort of spring training for the Show to work out the major kinks with a nation of Guinea pigs to test it and have a really good patch fot thatfirst of April week. Spring training was my time to test the game. Now ST is a moot point. It’s over when the game is released.

I loved when the game came out at the beginning of spring training. I would play it non stop at the beginning to hype myself up and keep myself occupied before the regular season. Now it comes out the week of Opening Day and I find myself playing it less because there's actual meaningful baseball to watch.

I know it was good and a good time to get the roosters 100% in time before the season starts. now the season is about 1 month in before we have the rosters we want

I may be in the minority here but I’d be ok with a the show coming out every 2 years if it means a better new experience. I know that probably won’t happen but the more time the devs have to develop the game the more new features we may see. I believe Konami tried this with pro yakyuu spirits.

In between releases, just keep pushing out roster updates to keep us all playing and a few minor updates.

and if MLB insist there be an annual release, then in even numbered years you release a $29 Show that is exactly the same as the year before, just a roster update and a new cover. In Odd numbered years you releasea $65 Show with new bells and whistles
