^I wish I had that kind of self control. I've told myself I wasn't gonna buy 19 three or four times, but I keep getting sucked back in. The improvements to RTTS (that we know about) are enough to make me want it. I'm really close to pre-ordering.

No kidding. And from all accounts it didn’t even sound that intriguing, but I’d still like to see it over the hype videos and dev streams with widgets determining outcomes.

I just wanna see some straight, uncut gameplay. Something we still haven't seen for 19. (I missed this video when it was up)

We don't ever see raw uncut gameplay this early anymore though. We should all be used to how they market the game at this point.

This video was released on Feb 5th last year. We've gotten nothing like this so far this year and it's the 19th.

I am leaning towards sticking with 18 this year to be honest. This is significant because I have bought every sports title every year since 2002. I have literally bought every iteration of the madden, nba2k/live, NHL, FIFA, MLB show/MVP/triple play. I even am a yearly buyer of the wwe series and haven't skipped a UFC or fight night game yet. I am a sports gaming nut!

This year is the first year I have decided to skip titles for the first time in years. I skipped FIFA 19 this year and have no itentions of buying it regardless of circumstance. Even when it wasn't $20 for Christmas I simply refused. It's a terrible game and broken beyond belief, and FIFA 18 was in my gaming rotation for almost 6 months last year.

I am an offline franchise player. I have no interest in playing card collecting modes or head to head. This just does not interest me. I love building teams and putting squads together on the fly. This is where I derive my enjoyment. Unfortunately everything about the show this year just screams DD and road to the show with no focus on franchise. Even the gameplay streams have me concerned as it feels like there were safeguards and nerfs put into place to appease the online crowd which may adversely affect the offline crowd and that sucks.

I have just seen nothing as of yet that gets me hyped, and honestly that seams to be the consensus on this forum this year. Sure there are the same crowd that gets hyped every year regardless on this forum (you know who you are, and bless your hears), but I think I am just finally done drinking the kool-aid. Who knows I may still buy but I would say I am 30/70 leaning toward a just sticking with 18 this year.

Sorry for the long lost but I hope this helps you form an educated opinion on spending $60 vs $20 this year

It does help. I'm like you, I don't care for online at all (except NHL Team Play) and am a franchise mode nut.

I think I'll buy MLB 18 in March. That way I can buy it cheap, see how MLB 19 reviews, and determine if I rip off the plastic on MLB 18 or return for a refund and get MLB 19 if it's worth it.

Also, you'll love buying sports titles a couple times every year, it gives me that feeling as a kid where every year the games seemed to take leaps and bounds.

This year was my sports refresh year, I went from Madden 15 -> 19, NBA 2k16 -> 2k19, NHL 17 -> 19, and UFC 3 (first MMA game on PS4, use to grab all on PS3). And I jumped from FIFA to PES.

Still determining when I purchase my first baseball game on the PS4. I use to grab every year on the PS3.
