How does bunting feel now that it has been adjusted? Can you feel the difference between the higher rated and lower rated? Also with regards to the lower rated how are they making contact, fouling off, missing or just going foul, etc. ?

Do the infielders cover a realistic amount of ground, so hits through the gaps actually happen frequently on solidly hit ground balls?

Are we going to get the ability to use two-way players properly or are we once again relegated to using guys like Ohtani as just a pitcher or hitter? (And for those who say "he's just going to be a hitter this year", yeah, he is. But what about 2020? Will I be forced to use a outfielder Shohei for the rest of his time in MLB 19 because of it?)

With the lessened effectiveness of breaking pitches...

Q1) What qualifies as a breaking pitch? Does a sinker, cutter or 2-seamer qualify as a breaking pitch? What about a changeup which technically is an off-speed versus a breaking pitch?

Q2) Perhaps more importantly...what does the reduced effectiveness manipulate? Is it control or break?

Q3) (Similar question bcruise asked) If I have pitch confidence ON and I am just straight dealing with my #3 pitch, my control USED to get better so what is the impact now? Is the lessened effectiveness negated? Or is it lessened?

4SM, 2SM, RFB, CUT will not be classified as off speed pitches. CH, CIR, CB , KCV , SCV , SL , SLV , FRK , SPL , VCH , PLM these all will be classified as breaking off speed pitches.

You could probably add the SLIDER to the FASTBALL category. The rest are 100% off speed breaking pitches.

There will not be any additional sliders in settings added this would take them having to year down to much and implant a whole new code and by adding anything new would mess up carry over saves at this point. They have used the same game play sliders for years I do not see them adding on or removing any this cycle. It would throw to much off at this point with previous saves, previous players they have along with any created players made.

Q1 and Q2 have already been answered in the streams. Variations of fastballs (4SM, 2SM, SNK, CUT) and sliders are excluded from the 'nerfing of the pitches'. It's both control and break for Q2. Don't think we have anything solid to go on for Q3 yet.

Are there any new pitch types?

Would love to see sliders separated into frisbee sliders (with predominant side to side movement but not as loopy as sweeping curves), downers (with, well, mostly depth and little sweep), and 'slutters' (that move a bit less than a slider but have more depth than a cutter).


Does the pitcher really get hit less by line drives up the middle?


With the increased slickness of defensive animations, do double plays seem to be happening too much? Or nah?

Another tidbit is I highly doubt the new change to how u pitch will effect offline, they did all the videos, gameplay stuff they showed was all from ONLINE GAMES. They mentioned that in the streams already. Like like year the exploits fixed and bunting had a,lot to do with online wasn't really tied to offline fixes.

Now I could be wrong and this year the changes could be global, but I highly doubt it this year as so far what they talked about is a lot of online stuff. I'm sure some gameplay stuff shown ties to both online and offline, but icons under players could just be a online thing along with the "policing" of how u pitch offline.

With the new fielding animations and Tiered defenders(bronze to Diamond). How does "fatigue and injury" affect players? In the stream, you guys stated that a diamond level defender will always guess correct, if that is the case, if he starts the game at 70% or has a playable injury will his speed decrease does his range suffer at all?

Will we be able to edit players in RttS similar to how it is in Frachise mode? Would like to be able to change my teammates and other players around the league gear or customize their appearance especially for guys that come through the draft.

Will RTTS management be more realistic this year?

Will you actually get managers that call for bunts, hit and runs and so forth?

In previous years the roster set up around the organization your on would have crazy set ups. If your in AA they would have a correct look as far as bench players and pitchers. If you look at AAA or MLB, they would only have 1 or 2 bench players in the lineup and over amount of pitchers. Has this been addressed?
