Does the CPU AI still over use the Suicide Squeeze Play too much?


I have lost a lot of games because of the suicide Squeeze! lol

I apologize in advance for semi-hijacking the thread but you can defeat that by using pickoff moves to 3b. The key is to be aware of when the cpu will do it.

The Catcher

1. We now have Tiered Defenders, do we have Tiered Catchers for calling the game?

2. Are the Catchers, pitcher signals consistent or more consistent, e.g. The catcher will call a pitch number(1 finger down) and make a gesture(slow deliberate downward hand movement) and the location would change(in the zone) even though it is the same pitch type and gesture being signaled.

There were times when you couldn't move your 2nd baseman on bloopers over his head. Has this been fixed?

They did add a small fix last year to this where you still couldn't move him but at the last second he would kinda stick his arm out and catch it. But we still should have full control off the bat, imo.

There is an option to have all played called perfectly by the umpires - no mistakes.

Is it any easier to jump straight up and snag a line drive in the infield? One of the most difficult things to do in this game.

My questions:

1. Outfield wall surfaces : has the team thought about adding different "rebound/ricochet" for the different wall textures and surfaces?
Balls that hit thick padding vs the firm Fenway monster should react different. Also Wrigley annoying the vines play no part besides being aesthetic.

2. Will the CPU be less likely to be doing sacrifice bunts with hitters? I see it happening far to often with good hitters, guys like Goldschmidt, Braun, rendon ... or power hitters would sac bunt when a runner on 1st or 2nd too often.

3. this is more franchise based but i notice: many awards are just gave to guys buy team select order (alphabetically..) had a few years where only ATLANTA & BALTIMORE GUYS WIN GOLD GLOVES

4. Will the rule changes be in the game?

My questions:

They did cover this a little bit in the defensive game play stream. The ball had a strong bounce off the bricks in San Francisco. But a considerable less bounce off padded walls. I like this small fix!

Yes, please please please ask about this.

They said in previous streams last year I believe that when they were in prodution meetings that year they could have taken resources and added more challenges, added it at different bases, but then they wouldn't be able to add anything else or work on much more in different areas of the games due to resources.

So with that being said this year main focus was gameplay and continue on getting rid of online exploits.

There in a 3 year cycle and I would imagine this is year 3. This year presentation, offline franchise was not the main focus. I know for a fact that it took a year and a half to rewrite the code for DD and it is set in stone now functioning how they want it to. The reason there is no online franchise yet and if it will ever return is it would take jsut as long or longer to strip it down and rewrite the entire code for it. Again takes resources.


So now that DD is where they want it, the return of season mode with a NEW name, game play finally getting fine tuned without a doubt we will get a overhaul in offline franchise next year heading into the PS5.

Does the cpu pull the starting pitcher after 5 or less inning when they have a lead and do they keep relief pitcher in the game for more than 5 innings when the cpu manager hook slider is on default?

Fielding when the ball goes in the gap or just past the fielders where one fielder will just stop for no reason and let the other fielder come in and get it whos farther away and needs more steps to get to the ball. Has this been addressed or hopefully fixed?

So are you saying season mode is back in?

This has not yet been confirmed by Sony. But, all indications point to the "new" March to October mode being a return of season mode, give or take.
