He called Moments a feature instead of a mode in the opening seconds of the stream too, and we now know that it is a standalone mode. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Plus we saw March to October has a separate tile, so it's definitely a mode of some sort.

Yeah the more I read about it, the more I realize I have no idea what this mode/feature is going to be. I guess we will all find out next week.

I'd be surprised if the consensus for the assumption of what it will be wasnt a new (improved) season mode. In fact, I'll stop annoying OS'ers for 1 year with my posts if it isnt season mode lol

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was like a franchise/season hybrid. Where it's just basically one year of the franchise engine and then your done. I do know that if the amount of games in season can't be adjusted then there is going to be a lot of dissapointed people. This was the main reason a lot the people were upset season mode left in the first place

I could see this being the case. 1 and done. I would think that would appeal to gamers who don't want to commit to a never-ending franchise but want to play a franchise-like mode with conclusion.
If you keep in mind that SDS's goal is to appeal to as many gamers as possible, this would make sense.
I'm actually playing Season mode right now on 17 and it's fun to just play without having too much to do. I play it as a fantasy-esque mode, consistently changing my rosters so I can play with different players.
March to October could be a mode that Season mode players will like but it probably won't be the mode of old.

It could be something entirely different. [emoji12]

I don’t mind if it is one season and done but I would like a carryover save feature to keep those historic rosters alive. Too much work lost to only to have for one year. Multiple season length options is important as well.

It's a small detail that most people may not care about but I'm hoping they schedule Postseason games for various times during the day. Hopefully they do this for March to October, Franchise, and Postseason modes. They have a few day games during the NLDS/ALDS round but the rest are night games. If there is more than one Postseason game being played on the same day, stagger them out. Maybe even give us the ability to schedule it how we want it.

I've included an example of last year's Postseason schedule. It's a small detail but I think it's something fresh and adds authenticity to the Postseason in MLB The Show.

I knew the optimism was misplaced. If they were re implementing season mode I can't think of any reason they would not call it Season mode to appease the fans.

Now that I have seen the moments video, I am a little less convinced that this is tied to DD somehow.
I won't rule it out entirely but moments looks like it is meant for the offline DD player.

Video I saw said you need an online connection to collect your rewards.

Well this was always a hope for the best, but expect the worst scenario for me. Looks like I got what I expected.

It's too bad, but it looks like yet another year of franchise getting lip service. Looks like my decision to buy 19 is coming down to if they have the Blue Jays alternate caps in the game. Kind of an odd make or break issue, I know, but while contract extensions, fielding improvements, and offspeed getting nerfed are all attractive improvements, the new pitching tiers, the new out of position logic, and the extensive list of unfixed issues in Franchise like:

1. Roster sizes to small causing multiple issues with staffing and trading
   
2. Injury rates (see above)
   
3. Awful regression system
   
4. Awful Morale system that cannot be turned off
   
5. Obtuse financial system
   
6. No System that allows for natural changing of positions or support for utility fielders
   
7. Non-roster spring training invitees
   
8. Only two spring training facilities
   
9. Can't select game time temperature, while SDS temperatures are always unreasonably cold in the middle of summer for any northern team
   
10. Can only contest calls at first base when it isn't the last out
    
11. Errors often counted as hits
    
12. CPU bullpen management issues
    
13. Player's relievers coming in with stamina missing no matter what you do to warm them up (except not warming them up and using the quick manage trick)
    
14. No slider for fielder stamina drain, impossible for even a 99 durability player to play a 162 game season

all work as negatives against buying for me. I sincerely hope that at least one or two of my issues get mentioned as resolved in the stream on Thursday, but I expect that none of them will.

So yes, my make or break issue will be a hat.

Edit: forgot about cpu shift management, and shift management in general needing to be fixed. Honestly the cpu needs to use the sight shift against many of my players, but it cannot. It's only extreme shift or nothing.

Honestly there are probably even more issues I'm not thinking of, and these are only the problems I can think of. The list would be a lot longer if it included ways I felt the mode could actually improve.
