Yeah, Caulfield basically covered it. I game on PC, primarily, and have an Xbox one.

I've been itching to play The Show and was looking for a little insight on whether buying Pro, essentially for one game, was worth it considering I don't have a 4k TV.

Just to chime in - I bought my Pro without a 4K. Never regretted it. Still noticed big differences especially with the show due to frame rate.

I quickly got a 4K however and it was even better.

      Get the Pro.

I refuse to spend $400 on a pro with the ps5 around the corner too. It’s basically the same console as what I got only “4K” which is completely overrated. And over sold

No offense, but you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about here.

When I got both, (4k tv and pro) the jump was incredible.

To those who recommended the Faster mode, thank you! I play on a Sony X930E. I've been playing on Balanced mode, I believe the resolution is 1440p? Looks amazing, but there are certain parks where the game is a little choppy. Based on this thread, I switched to the Faster mode which I think is 1080p. Game still looks great, and the framerate is definitely better. Overall a smoother experience for sure, makes the awesome gameplay even better. Wish I figured this out well before the month that '19 drops haha.

It will be deals out there where you will be able to trade the PS4 towards the PS5.

The pro is the only way to go in my opinion.
I had it using a standard hd tv. The Show plays MUCH smoother on the pro.

Purchased a 4k hdr samsung qled last week and now i'm in baseball heaven.
If you have the money the pro is a no brainer.

Go with the Ps4 Pro!!! The frame rate and smoothness of 60fps is well worth it alone for this game.

I would cut off my leg if anyone can prove that the SHow is 60fps in any mode on the PRO.....

I don’t see why that’s so hard to believe. It’s very smooth and as a PC gamer, fps is very important to me. There might be a few drops here and there in RTTS cutscenes and what not, but overall it certainly feels like a solid 60fps.

Last year I thought the same but playing games on my new pc at 60fps, there is no way the show under any resolution has a stable locked 60fps

Same goes for Madden, NBA 2K....NBA2k19 on PC with my 60hz 4k monitor feels so much smoother than console versions which are suppose to be 60fps

I know I'm late to the party but I'd say a pro all the way. I'm on a 1080p screen and framerate mode is essential for spotting those straight changeups. I used to NEVER spot them. Now I can sometimes spot them lol.

Seriously though it is worth it to get a PS4 pro even without a 4k or HDR monitor, even outside of the Show. The PS4 pro is capable of super sampling, which will make images clearer/sharper even on a 1080p screen, and HDR is a mess right now. If you have a good implementation both in the game programming and your TV, then it can be incredible. However, HDR ratings only care about nit differential, which is a MAJOR oversight. It means that a TV can earn the highest HDR rating with only two lighting zones. TV manufacturers are taking FULL advantage of this oversight and cheaping out, selling consumers tvs with not nearly enough lighting zones, all while claiming to have high HDR ratings. The end result? HDR will often look worse than standard lighting.

People see that HDR sticker and have faith it means something, but often more expensive TVs with worse HDR ratings will have better implementation then cheaper TVs with higher HDR ratings. Whoever was responsible for the standardization of HDR screwed up big time.

Just picked up a Pro finally. Currently transferring my data. Hopefully it’s worth the big price tag.

Are these settings associated with the game itself or the system. If its the system where do i go to change this
