Exactly, sort of proved my point. Why this then? Don’t try to sell me this is the gateway to wanting to play franchise. People who play this aren’t going to go into franchise and do this or they would have done it already.Comment

In trying to soak this all in, I still go back to the idea that March to October is a mode borne out of potential Franchise updates. They said in that Game Informer video that they wanted to update Franchise, but then in the midst of making changes to the mode, they decided that the changes evolved into something different and larger than they had imagined they would be. So they broke it off into its own mode and MtO was created.
I am trying to analyze that process...it seemed like they have/had big ideas for Franchise updates. And if MtO is what they had in mind for Franchise updates, it seems their focus was on the "curated" content that helps tell a story.
I also think that they were trying to bridge the loss of Season mode by making MtO a "Franchise Lite" experience...it's quicker to play, easier to access, still has trades (albeit trades that are very pre-set) and lineup adjustments. But, at the end, it also allows for rewards that are used in Diamond Dynasty.
And that is where the big question mark lies - at the end of your MtO journey, you're given DD rewards and also the option to carry your MtO team into Franchise. It's at that fork in the road that the future of Franchise Mode will be determined, it seems.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Is this not available on the archive? I only see 2 videos today that look like a portion of the stream. One is for 2:56 and the other is 3:35 (Lou reveal).Comment

And I don't know how anyone can predict the returns from that. Like you said, it's a crossroads.Last edited by bcruise; 03-07-2019, 11:41 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Twitch Stream - March to October, Franchise, Presentation, Commen
Just another interesting thing to note...I popped over to The Show Nation to see what the reaction was to today's stream. Typically, the focus over there is on Diamond Dynasty. I wanted to see if people were interested in March to October for the rewards given at the end.
Surprisingly, a few folks there are saying that will NOT play MtO, as rewards in the mode are available to get other ways (as said by Ramone in today's stream). So then the effort to play MtO isn't worth it to them. They said they may only play MtO when the servers are down - haha.
No one even mentioned that idea that they could pop into Franchise after finishing MtO...
Just a different perspective to consider from those that don't routinely play Franchise Mode.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Twitch archives videos immediately. I started watching it from the beginning as soon as it ended.
Edit: I just checked again and it's not there for some reason tho. Weird...Last edited by jeffy777; 03-07-2019, 11:18 PM.Comment

I liked just about everything in that stream. Sure they could have added more things to franchise but the presentation and gameplay look real good this year. I will likely do one play through of MTO just because I was going to start a new franchise in 19 to go along with my carryover save.Comment

Gonna be a no buy from me this year...first time ever I might add. Just wasn't enough in there today for me. I loved some things, just not enough to get the game. Gameplay will be really similar to 18 and I'll keep on with my rtts in that.
I started buying every two years with madden and it's increased how much I like the series, hopefully that same thing will occur with this series. Everyone needs a break.
I'll probably still be around in the rtts threads as those are always fun.PSN: Dalton1985

Even though the stream wasn't overwhelming. Man, I gotta say those presentation packages are top notch!Comment
