No you would have to go thru ‘19

You don’t have to play a season in ‘19 just borrow a copy to transfer the file to ‘19 then upload into ‘20

Worth noting you can't be 2 years behind however.

Example: Can't take a 2018 franchise save thats in mlb 19 and advance it to mlb 20 without being at least in the 2019 season.

In regard to including the actual names of minor league players, this became an issue one year for Tony LaRussa baseball. That one year they inckuded real minor league player names. As I understand it the makers of the game received a nasty letter from the lawyers representing the Major League Players Association. Thus, it is possible there is a provision in the licensing agreement between the MLPA and Sony which prohibits the use of the names of real minor league players.

Thought I would share some information in regards to real-life contract values and the testing of them. Also an answer to how they work with Y2Y (carryover) saves.

I know that, since we cleared the licensing hurdles to get those real-life contract values, they have been in the game for the past 6 months with sims out past 2030, and things have remained within reason. I seem to remember hearing at one point that in year-to-year (Y2Y) cases it takes a season before things sync up with the new values.

I believe there is still work to be done with new contracts, but things are slowly gathering steam with Franchise in general...

That's good news CB. Dev? So contracts are reworked to pay at new rates or salaries balance out with new incoming smaller contracts?

Not sure yet.

I'm very curious as to how this will work with carryover saves because I don't want huge discrepancies in contracts going forward with my franchise.

In the stream they mentioned that it wouldn’t be every game. From what they were saying, it will be once at most. And sometimes she won’t make an appearance at all.

That’s probably a good thing. Because if she starts repeating the same stuff over and over, then people are just going to skip through.

That's something I've never understood about the announcers in games. Why don't they just record 3 or 4 times the amount of audio so it doesn't get repetitive?

Does anyone know if she'll still talk if you X through it? That would be nice if she did. It's possible that a dugout reporter could be talking through a home run in real life even (normally they interrupt her, but they'll talk as pitches go through).

Some of the dialogue won't make sense if you X through it and she says "Take a look at the graphic," though.

Apologies if this has already been answered in the thread but from what I understand the roster for this MTO mode will be locked as close as possible to Opening Day. As a Cleveland fan given that Francisco Lindor may not be ready for the start of the season, does this mean that he will never be available in the MTO mode for the entirety of MLB The Show 19's existence? That would be a disappointment given he is one of the top players in MLB.

Is there anyone on here who can compile together for me full custom stadium sounds specific to each stadium and team? This would include crowd noise for home runs etc as the crowd noise on previous versions is terrible.

One thing I hope they add in the future is having the AI do position changes. Thankfully I can do this myself without having 30 team control since players are editable.

Example: Marlins have a young all star Jordan Rodriguez. He was a left fielder rated 80, primarily for his bat skills. His fielding ratings are:

Reaction: 44
Arm: 49
Fielding: 54

They signed Gerardo Parra at left field primarily because he's a better defender. I take a look at their roster and see they have capable backup outfielders, but they don't have a quality first baseman. Now I take Rodriguez without adjusting any attributes and make his primary position 1B, and low and behold his overall rating jumps to 86!

This is why being able to teach a player a new position and position changes needs to added to the game for the AI. Yes, I can do this on my own, and I do once a team completely fills its roster and I can see what is what, but I would rather not have to do this and have the CPU best utilize its own roster.

They took a big step forward last year with roster building, as the CPU is better at putting a roster together, but adding position changes/teaching positions should be/is hopefully the next step.
