Same here. I couldn't have put it better myself. But with that said....

I am not worried about real contracts ruing the budget system. Since the SDS team are the ones who emplimented it I would expect a patch if there are any issues. We are no longer waiting for the team to fix a user created problem.

As someone who constantly constantly obssesses about which team to play in franchise and winning a world series with a team who has never won one, MTO will be a nice break from Franchise. I can now try and win a the world series with a team like the Rockies but do not have to play 80 games a year in Coors Field.

Like everyone else I wish they would spend more time upgrading Franchise Mode but all the new presentations and contract additions will make Mlb the Show 19 feel much more than just a roster update. I can't wait until 3/26.

I am going into March to October with an open mind. I still feel it's too rigid on how much it let's you play. I am not a very good plop you in the middle of the game type player, I have no feel for the pulse of the game. I need innings to get used to the pitcher and some times it takes me 3 innings to get going. Having to generate offense right of the bat is a concern.

In other words, you like to play the game. Same here, I play a game a day in my franchise. This doesn't come close to allowing that, and when I do get to play it maybe one inning and that's it, then sim, repeat. Guys here seem to be game diehards, and I understand sometimes you don't have time to play a full game, but to take a season and play this way? I just don't understand what their sellin', but it's all good. The game presentation alone has sold me, love those pre-pitch camera angles. Have already pre-ordered and ready to go.

Guess we all just have to agree to disagree. Play ball!!!! (soon)

Armor, I appreciate the enthusiasm but SDS has to show me something first. They have to prove that contacts actually work in this years game. I have severe reservations that they got it right. Also, If the team can’t get rotation schedules in to a game, I also have some doubts about their ability. Fair or not, this is inexcusable.

Also, I have heard about a story mode that was born off of a franchise mode that was supposed to lead to integration into franchise story telling. If Madden’s larger team, because we hear that is SDS’s issue, cannot figure out how to create better storylines in Madden do you really think that they can integrate this into the new age Franchise? MtO feels like Longshot for The Show. Once again, love the enthusiasm, but SDS has to prove that they can execute before I believe that greater things are on the horizon.

I truly hope that you are right, because I want nothing more than better story telling. I just have a feeling that MtO will not lead to better storytelling but will turn into Madden’s CFM and will take away a lot of the “controls” that we have today.

Simply disagree and the comparing SDS to EA Madden is crazy. Also what is this myth now about Madden? They have given us full control of franchise mode their. Yeah they stripped it on PS3 and it took forever for them to get it back to a level where we can customize the game.


The Show will not take away our franchise mode that we have today. If you are that paranoid I can’t help you.

But what turns certain people on does not turn other people on. Everyone has their own idea of what franchise mode is supposed to be.

If your looking for OOTP then play that game. If you are looking to actually play baseball instead of watching it play out The Show for my money gives me plenty of tools in the tool box to create my virtual MLB Universe.

All the presentation elements from March To October are outstanding and that is what will cross over to franchise mode in the future.

If they took away what we have now (total control if we please) they would lose me.

The constant rhetoric of this is getting really old. I just don’t get that line of thinking. At all.

Anyway to each their own as always.

But I do agree in hoping salaries and extensions work as intended.

I hope you are right, but you are also hoping that this crosses into franchise. That is a BIG wait and see. I do not think that they will take away franchise, and I never said that so I am not sure why you would draw that conclusion. Could they make changes to integrate the modes and strip things down as they integrate, absolutely. That is the concern that I have.

EA didn’t even take away franchise - they rebuilt it. It’s always had franchise mode.

I gotta admit... I was all set to ignore The Show this year but the presentation improvements are bringing me back in. Sure, some Franchise improvements would have been nice but I spend most of my time playing games and that seems to be where the most improvements have been so far.

Presentation is on a different level. I'm praying that now in year 2 the 2 new last years additions have added substantially to thier commentary, SDS have stepped their game up with the Themes. I just wish by now OSD's would show different stats and advance stats. We have been seeing the same stat OSD for damn near a decade.

Hoping with new addition of Contracts, that it makes it's way into commentary like they talked about free agency with players last year and I hope Heidi talks about players being upset with their situation.

SDS, you missed a big opportunity to show how year to year saves and new contracts. Should have showed us how the values change or affect your franchise since that is heavy on everyones mind.

Wow really impressive. From gamestop monday until now I went from “meh” to “okay I’m intrigued” to “man I’m really excited to try this mode out!”

This in combination with the improvements to gameplay and all the new presentation stuff I can’t wait to play 19!

Plus I would like to point out one thing. We don't know how much is already going to carry over into franchise. M2O is already a franchise based file or else it couldn't carry over. So is it not possible that a lot of these new elements may already carry into franchise?

Another point is SDS is always talking about telemetry and such. So if a bunch of new people try out this mode isnt that a good thing overall. Lets use baseball for this analogy. Suppose 3 out of 10 people who try M2O carry over and at least try a normal franchise mode. Then folks we have an all star on our hands and telemetry data that shows people play franchise. If they don't well that proves something as well. Either way this year it looks like we are getting another great game of baseball. Next year that may not be the case. But I will worry about that when the time comes.

Even if say 19 sucks a big bag of .......... well never mind that. We stall have 18 its not like you cant keep playing the game you like. I get some of you are frustrated and you want more. But it aint happening this year and it may never happen. So you have choices, complain and buy the game anyway or complain and don't buy the game or just get over it and play or don't.

You all have gotten so negative, its embarrassing and I feel bad for you. I personally am going to enjoy The Show, play the hell out of some baseball and you all can sit on the bench and moan all you want.

It reminds me of TV stations I used to watch years ago. Gradually you realize they aren't targeting you any more and you just stop watching them. Youtube replaced it and I don't even pay for TV anymore. Too bad there really isn't an alternative to the Show but, it's just one more thing I won't be playing anymore. There are only so many hours in the day and only so many dollars for entertainment. Oh well I had some fun, but it's done.

This is what I don't understand. I am not trying to call you out or be an ***. But are you saying that in this generation of The Show, '14-'18 that there is not one of those games that you enjoyed playing. If thats the case then ok I get it and I am sorry you didn't enjoy them. But if you did like them, then why cant you just keep playing the ones you liked? Why does it have to be only the latest game or nothing?

Havent watched the stream yet but just ready through the thread.

I'm a big fan of MTO. Im under the assumption that after year 1 WHEN it does kick into franchise that it is fully featured as regular chise is. If that's the case maybe 30 team is capable year 2. Maybe not. But if they opened up workarounds it'd be cool.

I'm not mad at cant wait to see this new presentation! And this year I'll be adding SoS back again

Play ball there is too much this game offers from Rtts new assets to DD to franchise , presentation and MTO!

I was on the fence, but they really overhauled the presentation. That really adds to the franchise experience. I loved everything I saw.

The camera angles are fire. The crowd sounded really revamped. Those things really add to the immersion and can make a game feel brand new.

I'm intrigued now. It's not everything I wanted. But still pretty good stuff.

But if you did like them, then why cant you just keep playing the ones you liked? Why does it have to be only the latest game or nothing?

Because playing the same thing, no matter how much you enjoy it, eventually gets boring. Which is exactly franchise's problem on the Show, it's been the exact same mode (bar very minor, superficial changes) for a long time now and that has gotten boring.

Because playing the same thing, no matter how much you enjoy it, eventually gets boring. Which is exactly franchise's problem on the Show, it's been the exact same mode (bar very minor, superficial changes) for a long time now and that has gotten boring.

But wouldn't the boring part, fall a lot on the presentation?
